I would add Valley Lights and maybe Third Space if Pabst is considered a bar.  I have never been to the Tin Widow.  Sounds awesome. Pretty solid list but Conway's?  Apparently, great smoked meats to go with the sticky floor.

Not sure I always agree with Yelp's ranking algorithm.

You are much better off looking at the detailed reviews in the top 15-20 places and make your decision from there.

Also, "bars" is way too general a category. Do you want a dive bar or a classy cocktail location? Proper use of the filters is key on Yelp.

Conway's is the only bar on this list that was there when I went to MU. I didn't like it, but I did frequent Harp & Shamrock right across the street.

To be fair, I believe it was called "Ye Olde Conway's" at the time, and slavery might have still been legal in a few US states.

Bernie had a big dog who was friendly to customers ... as long as they were white. If a black person happened to walk into the bar, the dog would go crazy.

Bernie also thought I was Italian and called me "the Guinea." I didn't want the dog sicced on me, so I never told him I was Jewish.

Obviously, I would never give him a dime of my business now (if he were still alive). But back then I was just a stupid kid who went where his buddies did. Plus, we practically drank free there because the bartender loved us. Free beer outweighs human rights for a college kid!
