1.   So, Froling doesn't walk on water.
2.  Other than getting the win, the most important thing is that Rowsey was walking under his own power.  That was scary.
3.   I hate having only 9 scholarship players.   Dammit, Haanif.  Could've used you tonight.
4.   Dear lord, the officiating was spectacularly crappy.
5.   Once again, flashes from the freshmen.   I hope they all stay around 4 years.   I look forward to watching their growth.
6.   Amazingly, it was a defensive push that turned the game.
7.  Heal quickly, Andrew.

Pretty good defense down the stretch in the 2nd. Froling hardly playing was a bummer, wouldve liked to see what he could do, but apparently it was not enough to keep him on the floor. Hopefully this was just a "rust" game, otherwise its gonna be a long season.

Refs just called another foul on Theo for taking his shoes off in the locker room.

Got the win and it looks like Rowsey will be alright.  On to the next.

The refs are picking up their paycheck after that game.  I won't feel bad if I screw up a calculation tomorrow.

I hope you are right.  Looked like his knee twisted awkwardly, was figuring at least a knee sprain (mcl; e.g. Steph Curry).

At least he was on the bench by the end of the game; the way the announcers were talking at first it sounded as if he ruptured his Achilles or something.

47 total fouls.  23 for NIU, 24 for MU.  hard to watch.

NIU was 25 for 33 and MU was 14 for 20.

Theo played significant minutes tonight and if not for those fouls, might have seen more PT.  Getting groomed for BE play??

When Rowsey went out, Cain came in, not Elliott.  Hauser and Sacar helped Howard bring the ball up court.  Another interesting substitution.  Cain a lot of PT also tonight.

That German kid is pretty good.

Dr. Bardo and his achilles diagnosis was a bit scary at first.

Theo is pretty good when he keeps himself on the floor.  Now if only the refs would also let him stay on the floor.

Hope we can pummel American.  Froling needs some run.  Couldn't get into the flow, and Theo had his best game.

Rebounding was an issue.  Froling should help with it, actually managed a couple in the little bit he played.

Cain was our leading rebounder.  His defense is also getting much better.  Like what I see.

If anyone wondered whether Markus could make free throws blindfolded, he basically did.

Doesn't matter. He was called for his fifth foul when he shook hands with German after the game.
Have some patience, FFS.

* Survived a very poor shooting night
* Hated that NIU was able to drive the paint at will.  Looks like a blueprint to defeat us.
* Easily Theo's best game, despite refs insistence that he play with one arm behind his back
* Cain's length and athleticism -- wow
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

And yet MU won by 9. Exhibit A for why #ftnomatta.

German has the quickest first step I've ever seen.  Sacar kept the ball out of his hands by face guarding him/playing great D and that led to our run/10 pt lead.

Rebounding was atrocious

Pretty cool seeing Wade and Crowder get on their feet after the follow up dunk by Cain.

All the guys hung around at their seats after the game to sign autographs. Very cool of them.

I think Cain is going to pass up Elliott in the rotation minute-wise.  He's has more offensive burst and he is defending at a high level.  Elliott is good, but I kind of think we have seen what we are going to see from him this year.

Cain can hit an open jumper too.

I saw a tweet from Marquette Sports Wire with a sweet postgame stat breaktown. Anyone know what this website/software is? See attached.

Is Elliot going to become a great player with his current jump shot?
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Great player?  Probably not.  Consistent player who can score some points, play defense and dish out some assists?  Most definitely.

MU82

Very impressed with Cain. Earlier in the year, it seemed Wojo preferred Elliott. Maybe Cain outworked him in practice and made more progress; if so, I'm glad that's being rewarded.

Markus didn't have his shooting stroke but he did a good job of taking it to the basket. Missed a couple of bunnies he normally makes. Also took a quick shot and had a sloppy turnover when we had about a 14-point lead with 4 minutes to go. He's a smart kid, and he needs to be basketball-smarter than that.

Hopefully Rowsey is OK. If he's less than 95%, I hope he sits out against American.

Nice game by Theo. Heldt was bad for the first half and some of the second, but actually played very well down the stretch.

Perhaps the poorest officiated game we've had. There was a stretch that replays showed they badly missed 3 straight calls.

I laughed out loud when FS1 kept showing a replay of a supposedly questionable ball-out-of-bounds call, and the announcers kept commenting on it. a sequence that went on for what had to be 5 minutes. But that play actually had been long over and the questionable call was on the NEXT play. The ball went to Marquette, they showed one quick replay of it that was a poor angle and revealed nothing, and the announcers blew it off.

We got the win over which is all that matters. The other team was well coached and had a couple decent players and played with competitive fire . So in the greater scheme of things we did a good job tonight. The team is still on track for a very strong season .

Bad snarl up on 94 before the curve. So much oil on the road, almost lost it trying to accelerate it after the wreck.
