No....We implies you play for the team, or in somehow have a management/ownership stake in it. As a fan, "we" should never be used. It's "they" or "MU" or whoever you are referencing.

We is fine for fans.  The team says they need US.  That WE are a family.  WE are in it together.  That WE influence the game, thus WE are part of the team.  The 12th man in football, the 6th man in basketball.  Fans are part of the team in an extended fashion.

Well, as we have been saying in the chant for decades and decades, "We are Marquette."

And I am part of "we."

But since you seem to rag on the Warriors most of the time, anyway, you can call our alma mater's basketball team whatever you want.

!!! This

Andy North was at the Bucks game tonight. Happy that he gets to see two Warriors wins at the Fiserv this weekend.

For a lot of us here who are alumni and students "we" are a part of the MU community this "we" saying "refers to Marquette as a whole. For the  fan who enjoys MU but isn't actuall affiliates saying "we" could only imply they have a position on the basketball team. So I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference

He got to see two chips also, and it added to his trophy case.

Still, after some recent comments dissing the importance of PGATour caddies, I'm no longer a fan.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

Hell, neither of my kids went to Marquette but they have loved Warriors hoops all their lives. They call MU "we," and I sure as heck don't discourage that.

Sorry, but this irritates me...yes, she's your wife, and I'm sure she's wonderful..but I don't do "fence sitters" Root for MU except this one game every year?? I have quoted this before and I will again but as a Kentucky fan once said about their rivalry with UL..."You either bleed red, or you bleed blue, there is no in between". Amen. Again, this is supposed to be a "rivalry", but to me, it's the "softest" rivalry in college basketball, at least from a fanbase perspective..and the above is a perfect example. MU fans are "soft". To much like and respect for the Badgers and their fans.

Ask UL fans if they like Kentucky fans or vice versa...Ask Carolina fans if they like Duke fans, ask Michigan fans if they like Ohio State fans...the answer will always be a RESOUNDING "hell no". Their is hatred, and passion on both sides, and THAT'S what makes a true rivalry.
I looked at a couple pages and didn't see anyone say this to you yet so allow me to. Stfu. Seriously. Just stfu.

The coach of my HS bkb team used Davison's 4 or 5 drawn charges vs NC State as an example of how a player can impact his team without scoring.

I have to admit he's the kind of player you hate when he's on the opponent but love when he's yours. I worry that he'll sucker Sacar into a few charges, maybe Markus and Sam, too.

Having said that ...

F%ck him. We got this.
There's a difference between playing sound defense and drawing legitimate offensive fouls and flopping. Flopping isn't playing the game the way it's meant to be played and I have no respect for it whether they're on my team or not

Never to early to get this thread started.

Smoky's on Saturday, Wando's Sunday morning, then to The Hole for the victory!

Repost some of your favorites from earlier in the thread - not everyone starts reading it from the beginning.

I'll start things off:

Great start to what's gonna be a great week.

Officially signed two outstanding recruits ... rallied from 18 down to beat a B14 team that likely will be in the NCAAs ... gonna beat F%cky for the 4th time in 5 years ... gonna sign Garcia.

Yeah, baby!

We R Final Four

Can't wait to see if love is still strong here for Reuvers without Happ.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Kobe King was injured for Bucky's game against McNeese State. They'd be very shorthanded Sunday if he's still out.

Reuvers is very talented. But as we saw in Buzz's last year, good big guys without guard play = almost nothing

Glad we got a rock fight tonight to get ready for Sunday.

I think Markus has a monster game. He deferred tonight, but UW doesn't have anyone who can bother him as much as Purdue did.

Like our chances, but you never know in a rivalry game.
