Marquette NBA Thread

I agree he wouldn't have changed much.  I just don't care for the "only played 38 minutes theme".  I think that is more on the former coach than the kid.

Might as well go back one year and say it's incredible how far he's come from High School.  Or go back four years from that and say from Eighth grade.

Oso signs 3 year extension for $29 milllion

Phoenix Suns center Oso Ighodaro has agreed to a three-year, $29 million contract extension through the 2030-31 season, his agent Erika Ruiz of Primera Sports tells ESPN.

The Suns are picking up Oso Ighodaro's $2.5M
team option for 2027-28, so the extension starts in 2028 and runs through 2031 for the franchise's second-round find who has established into a reliable center.

I don't think that's true

It is literally just a fact. Not sure why you think anyone was blaming him for it.

Good for Oso. One of our family favorites.

Ok.  Then say he was injured.  People are using "he only played 38 min his freshman year" as an example of how players develop, even if they are objectively way less gifted than Oso.

It's tiresome.

He didn't start as a sophomore either under Shaka and averaged 5 PPG.

Could start to see the potential though.

[Juan Anderson's Mixtape]

He wasn't all that much as a sophomore either.

Not so fast my friend.  In 2022, Oso ranked 28th in the Big East in BPR (+3.99).  Among Marquette players, only Justin Lewis ranked higher at 25th (+4.08).

Oso's sophomore performance was starting caliber.  Of course, his game made the leap to star caliber as a junior and senior.

This is Peak Scoop.

Oso... career 48% FT shooter. Would have gotten a max deal if he hit at a 70% clip.
