I loved when he didn't get drafted, and really loved when he got hurt.

Payback for having never done a single good thing for Marquette's basketball team -- and, especially, for his bad body language that kept us from winning the 2022 national title.

Lewis also got daily encouragement from MU coach Shaka Smart.
"It was a every day thing," Lewis said. "And I would say personally, the things I learned from Shaka sophomore year, it helped me through my injury.
"He had a thing ... you should crave adversity. My thing was I wanted to go through my injury with my head held high. Because the only way I was going to get better is a positive mind-set and a positive attitude."
Smart and Donovan remain tight after Smart spent a season on Donovan's staff at Florida, so it's not surprising that Lewis is a frequent subject when they talk.
"(Lewis) is a great guy," Donovan said. "He's a really, really good worker. I'm obviously very close to Shaka. So I talk a lot to Shaka about him and he's got a lot of admiration for him."

Cool you can award him an honorary degree from Marquette and edit the NBA programs to say "Marquette/Virginia" instead of Virginia. But in the meantime when I started this thread the parameters were people playing/coaching in NBA or GLeague that finished their eligibility with Marquette or graduated from MU. Neither of which he did.
