Wesley completely shut down Steph Curry last night.  It was fun to watch him smother Curry the entire length of the court, denying him the ball and not giving him any room to get his shots off.  Wes played him like an NFL bump-and-run corner at the line of scrimmage, and he never ever backed off.

Great to see that Markus played last night.

Happy he is back from the knee injury. More quickly than originally projected.

Saw he was optioned to the G League team in Grand Rapids.

For some MU irony, the Grand Rapids G-League team nickname is, you guessed it, Gold.

That's the only way they'll be close as basketball players. The only other thing they have in common is they both played at Marquette for a few months.

One was a first-team All-American who was a credit to his university for 4 years and who has been earning an NBA paycheck ... the other was an overhyped baby who gutted a potentially fine season with his pouting and poor play and who is the master of the septuple-single at Michigan State.

Thanks for asking, Doc. Seriously.

We got a pretty good coating of ice, sleet and a little snow. It's right around 32 now and it's gonna go down into the 20s, so the roads could get pretty icy. Supposed to be sunny but only around 40 tomorrow, so not sure if it'll melt until Tuesday. The talkin' heads are saying we were lucky and it coulda been worse, so I'll take their word for it.

Markus had a modest G League debut . 14 points 7 boards 2 assist 4 turnovers in 28 minutes . 4-14 shooting. Hopefully gets healthy soon and back in form.

I used to be OK at driving in this kinda crap (because I had to be), but the folks down here suck at it. And we don't have an army of plows, sanders and salters to send out to clear the roads.

Markus played two games in the G League for Grand Rapids . Had 19 points in 22 minutes the second game with 4-8 from 3.  Markus was then called back up to The Nuggets

You’re surprised a big, athletic wing who can play D and shoot from distance found a spot in today’s NBA?

Kid had NBA written all over him at DePaul.

Are we talking about the same Max Strus?  6'5-6'6 isn't "big" for any position in the NBA other than PG.

Athletic?  Compared to you or me maybe, but he's not some explosive slasher.

And shoot from distance?  The guy who shot 34-35% from 3 on 6 attempts a game in college?  Not exactly a sniper.  He's improved his shot this year but last year was still shooting like 33%.

And yet there he is.

I said full credit to him.  He clearly works hard and found a spot.  Wouldn't be the first unlikely guy to find a role.

But to act like he was a no brainer NBA guy at DePaul, while greatly exaggerating his NBA attributes,  is just incorrect and 20/20 hindsight.
