Man Anthony Davis was really something.

Probably shouldn't have called Giannis a PF, either. Positionsnomatta. The point was two big strong guys being each team's main ballhandler/facilitator. And you of course knew that's what I meant, too, Sultan.

Totally agree, except for paying Middleton a top 10 salary for a fringe All Star player. I know it was to keep Giannis happy but Middleton has been underwhelming and arguably not even the 2nd best player in the team

Middleton has been better then last season when you look at his numbers on a per 36 minute basis. His overall numbers are down because he has played fewer minutes because of blowouts and load management by Bud.

As of Dec 12

2018-19 per 36 (77 games): 21.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.1 blocks, 2.7 3P/G, 7.1 3pA/G, 44.1 FG%, 37.8 3FG%, 48.5 2FG%, 83.7 FT%.

2019-20 per 36 (through 18 games): 23.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.1 blocks, 2.7 3P/G, 6.8 3PA/G, 49.0 FG%, 39.4 3FG%, 54.9 2FG%, 89.6 FT%.

Middleton has unfairly entered the "Suppan Zone" where Wisconsin sports fans view a player who gets paid big with great skepticism

Middleton's contract just shows how much super stars are underpaid.

Henry has been waived by the nets today

Woof.  Is that the end of the nba road for Henry?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Speaking of Henry, where is his Wisco counterpart, Diamond Stone, at these days?

Needs to go to China, Europe, or Australia/NZ ASAP and make as much $ as he can before the window closes for good. Do not stop in the G league, do not collect $200.

That has nothing to do with "competitive fire." He got fouled. Move on.

Head case.

Butler was maybe my favorite Marquette player ever.  But hoo boy is he hard to root for in the NBA.  Where he goes, drama and malcontent will follow.  Easily my least favorite former Marquette NBA player.

???  What "drama and malcontent" is he creating in Miami?  He was flat out right about the problems in Minnesota, and was just fine for the Sixers - he was offered max contract and turned it down for a sign and trade.

His Sixers teammates loved him, and his current teammates in Miami love him as well. The Wolves (a team he never asked to be on) were and are a horrifically constructed team that was infinitely better with him on it than off. They stupidly chose to try to make it work with Wiggins & Towns than build around Jimmy. Same with Chicago. Both of those teams now royally suck ass while Miami is a legit contender since the second he walked through the door.

He wears his heart on his sleeve, plays with an edge & sense of urgency, and does not give one flying eff about manufacturing a bland public image for marketing purposes. Refreshing! I love it

Yeah, he never asked to be on the Timberwolves...but he trashed his coaches and then trashed his teammates in Chicago which resulted in him winding up in Minnesota, where he trashed his teammates and demanded a trade.

What's ironic is that his "playing with an edge and sense of urgency" is, well, even less than what TJ Warren did to "spark" this whole thing last night.  The dude was trying to chase down a ball handler coming around a screen and happened to get his arm tangled a little bit.  Happens multiple times in every basketball game at every level beyond middle school.  Butler acted as if the guy had undercut him from behind on a run out dunk or stepped under his feet intentionally on a jump shot.  He got fouled and his fists were immediately balled up and he's blowing kisses?  Very cool Jimmy.  Very cool.

It's no surprise he's Mark Wahlberg's best friend.

There is no doubt the Timberwolves, or any team, should build around KAT over Jimmy.  Jimmy's a very good player.  He'll never be the best player on a title team.  KAT probably won't be, but he has a chance to be.

Also, the Heat aren't "legit contenders."  They're playing very well in the regular season.  Without making a pretty big move, they have 0 chance of getting to the Finals without injuries to star players on the Bucks, 76ers, and C's.

The Sultan

Lol. You can build around KAT and lose a lot of games. I'll build around Jimmy and beat your a$$ repeatedly.

KAT is better in every facet of the game other than ball handling and guarding on the perimeter.  Jimmy is so much better that he really turned the Timberwolves into a great team when he joined them.

The Heat players, staff, and front office love Jimmy. He fits in well into their culture. They keep Udonis Haslem on the team for that same intensity, attitude and desire, even though he can't really play anymore.

Jimmy's so good at beating everyone's ass repeatedly that he joined a team that went to the ECF the year before he got into the league and the furthest they ever went with him was the second round.  He's so good at beating everyone's ass that, even with an extra 5 years in the league, he's never been beyond the second round of the Playoffs.
