While I don't disagree with you in principle, the Raquel Welch reference is to a prop in The Shawshank Redemption -- a movie from the mid-90s.

Or, as my future mother-in-law called it when it came out, The Slipshaw Rebellion.

My condolences to you.  Dyslexic-Mother-In-Law Syndrome affects many of us.

I'd give you a taste of what's to come, but it would be like going back in time and telling a younger version of me to run.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

HA! I guess I should have left it as "my then-future mother-in-law" as I originally had it.
I've enjoyed her company and helpful suggestions as official M-I-L for over 16 years now.

I hope you have been working on a script after your M-I-L gave you a great movie title to work with.

The Holy Hand Grenade from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Well, I guess it's time for me to put up, or shut up.  As much as I wish I had that kind of disposable income, I'll be shutting up.

One of Ty Webb’s uncashed checks.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she’d be a super horse......what’s this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

And then using another prop to go back in time, I circumvent the “Void after 120 days” stamp on the check in order to put 48 $50 WIN tickets on #3 in the 7th Race....I think he’s called Fleet Dreams....Trotter gave him to me!

Oh wait, Chick won’t allow profits off props...so instead I just print 100,000 business cards for “Jennifer Tilly——Football Sales”

Saw this topic online.  It has prompted some interesting discussions among my group, so I thought it would be fun to post here:

If you could own any movie prop in the history of cinema, what would it be?  For purposes of this discussion buildings (such as Ironman's house) or vehicles (the Back to the Future DeLorean) are not included.

And just because I know the conversation will devolve into this otherwise, your choice should be based on how cool you think it is, not because it is monetarily valuable.

I would choose the animatronic gopher from "Caddyshack".  Glow picks the amp from "Spinal Tap" that goes to Eleven.

What's your pick?

The zucchini from Animal House and then I would donate it to one of my pals here on Scoop.

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

I said one prop, people.

Actually, re-reading this thread (and your original post), I just noticed this...

No, you didn't.   ;)

Just defending myself because I appear to have been the one who sent this off the rails with discussion of numerous options.  Sorry.

Scarlett O'Hara's curtain dress.

Carol Burnett can get you this. Cheap.

So I read through this thread again, and since the "no vehicle" rule has been shamelessly ignored, I would like the Urban Assault Vehicle from "Stripes", even though it was the worst part of that movie.

I will also take Bill Murray's letter jacket from the first part.
Have some patience, FFS.

If we're going for a Stripes prop, I'd take the "Win a Dream Date with Ox" issue of Tiger Beat.

In that case, I’ll take Stanley Spadowski’s mop.

This is one of the best Scoop threads in a long time.  Kudos to all.  So many good selections.

Sorry to be late to the party, so, from the dregs, I select Del's shower curtain rings from Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Del's sink-washed underwear would be a close second, and Del and Neal's post-fire rental car would be my selection in the automobile category).

I only discovered that movie a couple years ago. Now I watch it every Thanksgiving. So good.
