I wish you could record silence and then play it over speakers at full volume to make a room quiet

But then how would you hear if a tree fell?

Fuji all day.

I climbed Mt Fuji. Not that difficult but the sunrise is stunning.

Warm apple pie....

Norske Nook apple pie, evening of course, is best served steaming hot. The aroma alone is enough to lay bare a man's soul.

But the real thrill is sinking one's mouth into that viscous goo. By all that is holy there is nothing as wonderful as hot apple pie served up fresh at the Norske Nook.

Tequila is the worst coming back up.  Had a bad experience decades ago, and still won't touch it if it isn't in a margarita....

I am that way with Jack.   Bad experience the first time I drank it (doing shots of Jack on St Patrick's day 1985) and now I can't even smell it without it turning my stomach.

Tequila Rose for me. Was out drinking pretty much everything under the sun one night and finished the evening with a shot of Tequila Rose. It all came back up, and since then, I can't smell it without getting queasy. Same goes for Strawberry Quik, which smells identical. Vile stuff.

Their odds on winning the ship just dropped to 3/1.

In my dream this morning .. I was watching a football game .. the Bears versus someone.

The Bears were up by a point and had the ball with 5 seconds left, all they had to do was kneel down on the ball and it was over .. but their QB was 100 foot tall guy .. it was Bob Newhart.

I mean, 100 foot tall Bob Newhart is old, but he could just walk to the endzone and score with 11 guys on his legs.  Or kneel down on the ball, either way.

Instead, Bob passes the ball, is intercepted, and the other team scores to win the game.

the end.

So this is the new thing huh?  Now not only can players be one-and-done, but now they reclassify, skip summer workouts and join in September.  So Bagley will be on Duke's campus about seven months at most?

The only Bob Newhart related dreams I have are about Suzanne Pleshette.

Stop me if you've heard this one before:

A young, untested D-1 basketball team from Wisconsin heads overseas to play local professional teams. First game, they trail for three quarters and pull it out in the fourth quarter for a 10 point win.  Fans immediately proclaim them an automatic Final Four team for the upcoming season.

Can't help but hope this story has a familiar ending as well.
