One of Marquette University's most famous former landmarks is returning — fittingly, in the form of a beer can.


Blue & Gold Brewing, a student-run business venture that launched last year, has created a new craft beer named after McCormick Hall. The new beer, dubbed "The Beer Can," will be on tap at local breweries and available in cans at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, which is National Marquette Day.


The beer is a nod to McCormick Hall's cylindrical shape and nickname. The dorm opened in 1968 and housed more than 36,000 freshmen over the years before closing in 2018. It has since been razed.

  there were some real interesting beers discovered within that dorm-mainly cheap stuff one could afford back in the day. $3-4 bucks /case-rinelander, walters, point, blatz, red white and blue, old milwaukee...remember when leinenkugals fell into that category only to emerge as a real powerhouse.  i remember buying that stuff under $5/case thinking what's the matter with this?  well, nothing and miller bought them and the rest is history

btw, the beer can should have a picture of nestor on it with the saying...i don't geeve a f**k
