Cash's Hurt is an excellent answer.
Elton's Wizard isn't very good.
I Love Rock N Roll isn't very good no matter who the artist.

Clearly you haven't heard the Brittany spears version

Also would've included Nirvana the man who sold the world.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

No, that would definitely be "Drops of Jupiter" by Train.  At its peak, I would change the radio station when I heard it play, only to discover that the new radio station was also playing it.

Ugh. +1 memory of that era in radio...

Hotel California is extremely underrated as a stripper song.

"Save Room in the Lifeboat for Me" and "What Would You Do If Jesus Came to Your House Tonight" are right up there too, hey?
"Give 'Em Hell, Al"

Galway Eagle

How did nobody (including me)  immediately mention Twist & Shout?

Because the Isley Brothers original version is better than any of them.
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

Which was also a cover when they did it so it should still be mentioned

Oh I should have added "Train Kept a Rollin'" by either the Yardbirds or Aerosmith.

Bangles version of ' Hazy Shade of Winter.'
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

The problem I have with Weezer's version of Africa is that it sounds almost exactly the same as the original. I prefer a remake where the artist adds something of their own; Weezer makes an exact duplicate, which is difficult but IMO doesn't add anything.

I'll throw in Red Hot Chili Peppers cover of Higher Ground
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.
