Kind of a moot point as everything that goes on in that city is completely serious.
Have some patience, FFS.

During college basketball season, there was a story about Michigan St students wearing teal to support sexual abuse victims.  Not the color I would have chosen.

Maybe it's ironic.

I feel like "different numbers" is a noteworthy omission here.

Well, if you buy the same numbers twice and someone else also happens to win, you get 67% of the pot, not just 50%.  The more times you play your numbers, the greater share of the prize you get to keep.

To summarize, it's a two pronged approach to make the lottery a smart investment.  First, play lots of numbers to increase your odds of winning.  Second, play each set of numbers multiple times to increase your share of the jackpot.

The lottery is never a "smart investment." You are simply describing ways to make it a tiny bit less dumb as an investment.

Looks like LaVar is taking his Balls and going home....

Where does that leave LaMelo? He can't play in high school, he can't play in college, he's not old enough to enter the NBA draft. This whole experiment seems like some very short sighted parenting.

Especially when LiAngelo doesn't get drafted this summer.

Stats wise basically buying many numbers does not change the odds, that is how bad the odds are. Su might as well just purchase just one.

Yep.  And some point the jackpot can get high enough that statistically, the expected payout is greater than 100%, unless, of course, there are multiple winners.

I beg to differ.  The odds of winning with one ticket are 1 in 292,201,388.  The odds of winning if you buy two tickets are 2 in 292,201,388.  I'm math illiterate, and even I can tell you that the odds are twice as good if you buy two tickets.  Now, drop a sawbuck, and the odds start looking pretty good.

I swear the wide-spread use of teal on this board has totally destroyed some of your sarcasm detectors.

That said, I wouldn't say "never".  Actually a really interesting read.
