I think water consumption is overrated.  All I do is go to the bathroom a lot.

Agreed. The human body needs three liquids: coffee, beer and whiskey.

Being a pretend body language expert pays exceedingly well, so well it can pay for enormous pretend houses.

You've convinced me.  No water from now on.

I'm thinking mostly Belgian Dubbels and Tripels and Quads, maybe witbiers in the summertime.  Other suggestions?

Why is it so hard to stay awake when you need to stay up, and so hard to fall asleep when you need sleep?

Preaching to the choir. How often do I fall asleep on the couch watching something I'm interested in, then go to bed and can't fall asleep?

Slept 9.5 hours last night. I’m usually lucky if I sleep 6 hours.

For me it's a bike ride.  I carry my phone in my jersey pocket, but I usually can't hear it with the wind and traffic going by.  I return from my ride, and inevitably will have missed the call....

how many times have you turned a game off cause "it's over" as in, no chance for the losing team to make a comeback to tie or win?  then...a little later, you're watching sports center or you notice online that team came back to tie/win in overtime or came back to win it out right?

Packers-Cowboys when Matt Flynn was playing. Happened to flip it on to see how bad it got just as we were about to go ahead. As a result, I have to sit through the entirety of this godforsaken because of that glimmer of 'hope'.

On an unrelated note, I can sadly say that as a member of the new parent/old man club, I passed out during every world series game this year in which there was a late scoring swing. But I'm told it was great.

here's the kicker-how many will admit it?  :o

full disclosure- i had turned off that packer-lion 12/3/15 game during the 4th quarter in total disgust.  no, i'm not a homer.  i have been going to packers games since county stadium and share the gold pack with my bro-in law.  if not for my wife and boys screaming their back-sides off leading up to "that play" i would have missed it live

I had two in-person near misses.

The first was a Bucks game back in the 70s with my dad and brothers.  The Bucks were down by like 10 with a minute left, so my dad made us go.  As we were walking around the concourse, we heard several huge cheers so we ran to the nearest aisle to see that the Bucks were down 1 with the ball and a few seconds left.  Apparently they hit a shot then got a couple of quick inbounds steals and three-point plays.  We stood in the entryway for the rest and watched the Bucks hit a game winner.  Can't recall who hit it.

Second was the '84 game in Miami when Doug Flutie hit the Hail Mary to Gerard Phelan.  (In Miami visiting my girlfriend during Thanksgiving break).  It was rainy and cool by Miami standards, so when Miami took the lead with 28 seconds left, my girlfriend's dad insisted that we go (along with many locals who were heading out).  I got him to grudgingly agree to stay.  The rest is history.  Funny footnote:  He was actually kinda angry that we stayed and got caught in traffic, because Miami lost.

Now I never leave or turn off a game early because "it's over" (unless it's some game I didn't really care about anyway).

Sometimes.  Depends who I am shopping for and what I am looking for.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.
