There are few things more pathetic than a head basketball coach slamming reporters for criticizing his team.
"What we take for-granted, others pray for..." - Brent Williams 3/30/14

Markusquette

He said we have two big guys that can really score the ball inside.  Heldt's got a great reputation already as a dominant force inside.

CreanLover

That's great...he DOES know Marquette.

He looks like the one-armed man from "The Fugitive." I believe Devlin-McGregor is a team sponsor.

rocket surgeon

savvy coaches don't provide opposing teams with bulletin board material.  probably has the team duct-taped or well trained-smart!

MU better be ready for BET v2.0 with SC in Greenville versus Seton Hall in NYC.

Daniel

I listened to a lot of it.  Very complimentary of Marquette, our past three coaches, the program, Al etc.   He is a tough competitor, and his him will come out playing tough for rebounds, loose balls, etc.  We need to be ready for a physical game.   Interesting guy.

How do you do that?

To speed up Youtube videos, hit the little "gear" in the right corner, then speed .. and 1.25, 1.5, 2x shows up.   So, so, so much better.

I took it as him saying 'Duke and UNC fans will get the majority of tickets' and he hopes there are some left over above their allotment for SC fans.

He was VERY complimentary of the program though.  I can see him and Buzz being friends and conversing on the same level, i have a tough time imagining him and Wojo hitting it off.
oh, matty v says they're buds..."Martin met with local media on Sunday evening to discuss his team's inclusion in the NCAA Tournament. During that session, he mentioned his friendship with Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski, his ties to Marquette's program, his thoughts on this year's Golden Eagles, the inspiration he received from watching Al McGuire coach, Marquette's tradition and much more."

GGGG

He is clearly a very good coach.

The coachey, us versus them mindset can be a little much but it works for him.

Chances of Frankie having a heart attack after we drain back-to-back-to-back 3s?

Low.   This isn't his first rodeo.    It is for his team and it is the first for the university in a long time, but Frank has been there and done that.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

Ha, true, and he's proven time and again that he can have a conniption with the best of them.

I wish scoop had a better name, or Marquette sports as a whole.

Yeah, I think there's a 1-to-1 mapping of personalities here and every team's message board.

Martin is a fierce competitor and he has a keen appreciation of Marquette's tradition. Mocking him is silly - especially by a bunch of goof balls on a partisan website. Frank Martin knows basketball. Very few here do, despite the absurd analytics offered up as 'expertise.'

Under different circumstances I would be happy with Frank Martin as our coach.

Speaks to your character that you criticize Wojo and yet would have no issues with the Marquette coach being a guy who is banned from participating in Floridian high school basketball.

Have some patience, FFS.

Too bad Buzz is not "imposing" in stature.....

That would be a hell of a UFC cage match......

A major pair of hard A$$es......

I can only imagine what their "boot camp" is like....LOL.....

My favorite comment was "If we hold them to under 30% 3P shooting, we will win.

I mean, he's not wrong. But I don't know if he realizes how difficult that would be.

3 games this season we were below 30%, Pitt, Michigan, and Georgetown, all losses.
And we shot 55% vs Providence and still lost that.

that's pretty insightful, but it's like saying, if you walk out in the rain, you'll get wet.

i don't have(or too lazy to look up)the resources to see if we've shot under 30% all year from the arc
