I had not known that it was asymmetrical.  Students and the young alum section in the 'big' end or do you think they move them to the other side so the university can offer the popular '$99 special' (I know it won't be that cheap) to encourage the marginal fan to return?  Very interesting decision.

Great to see seats rather than a tunnel behind the basket

No need for a Zamboni.

But aren't they building the ability to put an ice sheet in place?

Yes, but only for 'special purposes'.  In the BC you had planned to be playing 40+ NHL games a year.  So I can envision having one hidden in the back that they can squeeze in when they need to.  No need to design a seating bowl to accommodate frequently.

I have mentioned this before that the Kohl Center has much better basketball seating than the BC does, and it is a multi-purpose arena.  The tunnels are in the corners, just like they will be for this place.

The seating for the new arena looks even more intimate than for the Kohl.

Yes, I expect seat prices to go up some.  How much probably depends on the MU negotiations with the Bucks.  I am a little fearful that the Bucks owners will stick it to MU.  Yes, they need MU to fill dates, but, MU may need them more.

I can tell you the price will not get hiked up, by just being in a new arena. It will be the normal two year little bump.

Sweet! That'll be my first year I can probably afford decent non coors light corner tickets.

The best part of the design is that you won't have as many people from the lower lever seats coming in 4 minutes after the game or halftime starts and walking around the court to their seats.

Not bad for an exterior. Sort of looks like a giant wood beer keg, or whiskey keg. Bucks hope that they will sell lots of both.

Indeed.  The 200 level seat at the Kohl Center doesn't exist at the BMOBC.  It reminds me somewhat of the Rosemont, where the first few rows are right on top of the action.  As expected and by design, the 300 level is just as bad as the BC's upper corners.

Anyone know when these negotiations will happen? I'm not saying we are in the new stadium until these happen.

I believe they are already in process. MU giving the naming rights to Aurora didn't exactly help matters. Instead of one joint effort, there will now be the Marquette/Aurora Athletic Performance Research Center and the Bucks/Froedtert McKinley Health Center with a focus on sports medicine.

They're really selling this with everything nice and green and people wearing shorts.  Are the Bucks playing in the Finals or did global warming really hit Milwaukee?  Or is this supposed to be a Selena Gomez concert in July?

jficke13

Hopefully the Bucks are in the finals AND Selena Gomez is coming to Milwaukee. Aim high!

I know the structure immediately north of the new arena is the parking garage. I know the practice facility is the NW structure.  What is the structure immediately north of the parking garage?   More parking?

BTW, looks like the artist's rendering with everyone in shorts during the bball season is spot on.
