the Redskins moat, in addition to have big waves for surfing, also appears to have a beach with stadium wall climbing (or repelling) also a pregame activity.

although a frozen moat could replace the Pettit for speed skating.

More like an old beer barrel between Pabst and Schlitz

Nothin wrong with that.

Someone else suggested a moat.  Fill it with crocks and toss Bo and his badger minions in.  Now, that would be a good shade of red.

Skatastrophy

It'll be interesting to see how "2015" this stadium feels in 20 years.

I do want a moat though.

No problem.  A moat will occur naturally when it sinks due to the water table issues.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Nope. The North facing side is McKinley.
The north facing side is on Juneau.  The Park East freeway land between Juneau and McKinley will be additional development, not the actual arena.

If so I'll admit to it, but based on what's being blocked off, it really seems McKinley will be the north border.

It's threads like these that keep me coming back here despite painfully seeing the Marquette Madness at the top.

Well done gentlemen and ladies.

From the linked article...

The arena site, located between N. Fourth Street and N. Sixth Street from W. Highland Ave. to W. Juneau Ave., will seamlessly link with active development on all sides, including Old World Third Street, Schlitz Park, The Brewery, the Milwaukee riverfront, Water Street and the Wisconsin Center.

Any new info on the actual seats for the new arena or even "I heard" type of info.

In particular, I would like to hear about seat size and leg room versus the BC.  And cup holders or not?

Or will it be like airline seating:  If you want a nice leather seat, you need to sit in this section and pay X+ Y or if you want a cup holder and another 2 inches of leg room and seat room, please sit in this section and pay X+ Z, etc...  If you you only want to pay X, you get a seat like in the BC and sit in the end zones or upper level?

I hope it isn't airline seating, but given the times, I suppose I should expect this business model.

MUBigDance

I'm curious about this too.  Anybody know anything...seat types, costs, etc?? Will MU tickets cost extra? Will all the promo's we see now also be available or does MU have to abide by new rules?

And what will be the first events in the Arena?  Bucks Fan Day?  Pre-season games?

I think my first time inside will be Marquette's first home game.

brewcity77

A friend of mine is a Bucks season ticket holder and said that they are going to be making appointments for all Bucks STHs to come in and be given a virtual look at the seats they could have. Not sure how they're doing it, but sounded like they would simulate the view for a comparable seat, comparable price point, or pretty much whatever they wanted. It won't be a quick process, but my guess is talking to those people once they start getting access to the simulations will be our first bit of substantive news.

Can confirm from a reliable source that there will be better leg room as well as cup holders.

I have been in the preview center twice now, this past Friday they added a sample of the new seats. Very nice, cupholders on the back of the row in front of you just the same way it is in Miller Park. Cannot speak to legroom but was told it would be a significant improvement.
They also have an exact replica of the new luxury boxes, which include your standard suite and a newer smaller type of suite behind the baskets that can accommodate 4 or 8. They took the bathrooms out of the suites in order to give them more room.
I have no idea whether the preview center is open to the public or not, I assume you just need to schedule an appointment to meet with a ticket rep, but its definitely worth a visit if you are looking for more insight into the new arena. My work has season tickets with the bucks and so I've been there to discuss our seats.
I can only comment on the prices for the bucks, and I don't believe they've made that info entirely public, but sidecourt near the back of the lower bowl is just under $100, behind the baskets in the $80 range and lower level corners in the $70 range. I attached the seating chart with the sections. Can't wait, looks awesome from the preview center.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a giant turd?

Great to see seats rather than a tunnel behind the basket

muwarrior69

Are the seats really going to be green? If we ever do play Notre Dame they will feel right at home.

Mr. Nielsen

New arena will seat 17,500.
65% of the seating will be in the lower bowl. Upper bowl about 14 rows. You enter from the top.

1 to 2 inches more for leg room. Seats 1 to 3 inches wider.

6 loading docks compared to 1 at the Bradley Center. Will be major plus for concerts.

Thanks for the info on the seating!  Great stuff.  It sure sounds positive for larger seats, cup holders, and a little more leg room. And better views.  Combining all of those things together will make it a much better experience and sell more food and beverages (I hate putting a drink down on the ground if eating or otherwise, have to pick it up when someone walks by, etc).

I had heard that the sound system will be a lot better in the new place.  Also, I have hope that the lighting will be darker in the seating area, from what I've heard.  I miss that about the old Mecca... the lights were on the court and the seating area was darker... makes for a better fan experience and more focus on the court, in my opinion.

Yes, I expect seat prices to go up some.  How much probably depends on the MU negotiations with the Bucks.  I am a little fearful that the Bucks owners will stick it to MU.  Yes, they need MU to fill dates, but, MU may need them more.  No real alternatives to the new arena for MU unless they want to construct their own which makes no sense, and play in the UWM arena for a few years while building a new arena.

I sure hope we get better practice availability and some more Saturday night games.

17,500 is a little too large for the Bucks and MU, except when a team is really good.  I'd think something closer to 16,000 would create more urgency to get tickets or buy in early to not be shut out when a team is good.

Thanks again for the info.
