Yeah...as improved as his decision making has been, that wasn't his best last night. Was pretty clear though that both JJ and Duane wanted the ball at the end. Considering this entire year is pretty much training wheels for the next couple years, I'll take it.

By the way, is it my imagination, or has Coach Wojo unleashed the offence? The defence, while intense, seems to be more aggressive in pushing the ball up court. The offence also seems a lot faster than a month ago.

Anyway, the recent games have seen the Warriors score a ton of points.

There is a significant difference between having a wide open, nearly uncontested lane to the hoop and taking an open jumper/driving to the hoop in traffic.

I thought it was the right move for JjJ to go to the hoop when he did, otherwise they were just going to foul him anyway. Glad it went in but I have a lot of faith in JjJ these days.

JJJ was well in front of the defense. The only way he was missing that was if SJU fouled him hard. I think it was the right play

Surprised to see this was even a discussion after the game. JJJ pounced on a loose ball, had two steps on any Johnnie, and rightly took it to the rack to put the game to bed. Any coach would approve.

Definitely the smart move.  We were up 3 at that point with 22 seconds to go.  That lay-up sealed the deal and is a much higher percentage play than running off another 2 seconds and having to go to the line under pressure.

I find myself wanting the ball in JjJ's hands, both during the flow and at the end of the game.  I wouldn't have said that at the beginning of the season.

Which blows my mind.....could not have have said that any year prior to this year. This is also the perfect example of why I'm excited for Haanif and Traci next year and beyond. Development is a thing and can lead to fantastic results.

Yeah last night when he tied that rushed fade shot that lead to a SJU run out was legit the first dumb shot I remember JJJ taking in months. Whether he makes or misses a shot it's almost always a open jumper or open lane to drive. He doesn't force.

Just like when up two in the final minutes the ball was gotten to him and he started to go, had nothing and turned back and killed time til Traci game to get the ball. He knew that was the time to slow it.

I just hope DW can get there.  Still has some maturity to go with decision making on the court.  It's more about consistency.  Makes some great plays and decisions, then a bunch of wiskey tango foxtrot.

Commented on that at the time, not long ago he would have tried to force that.

I still think he could have pulled up that last one, but I didn't have a huge problem with it as he was relatively free to the hoop.

If Henry missed that corner 3.  StJ grabs the rebound and is off to the races with Henry way behind the play.  Based on the way the game was being called they likely get 2 free throws and MU is now down by 3.
Don't like a 27% 3 point shooter taking that shot early in the shot clock.  That was the time to drive the ball to the lane, get fouled and hope for the shot plus the foul.
It worked but 3 out of 4 times it goes the other way.  A bad decision that worked.

To me, it is the obvious correct play.  In that instance you are trying to get away from the defenders to waste as much time as possible before being fouled.  If you're going to speed away from the defenders you may as well head to the basket and if you get to the basket first you may as well lay it in.
