Marquette Lights app for Saturday's game

Just got an email from the athletics department that they have released an app that will allow people to join in on the lights show via their phones.  They actually have a demo on the app and I could see it being pretty neat if thousands of phones were simultaneously participating.

I know this was said in jest, but my little brother can't go to games at the BMO because of the way they sync the camera flash to the floor lighting. I never noticed it until he nearly had a seizure and had to leave mid-game. This was 3 years ago, so not sure if it's still the case, but for something like this, he would have to wait in the bathroom.

Oh don't worry about him, my indoctrination effort never took off and might have had the opposite effect, so he doesn't watch or like any sports. I was just commenting on a tough spot for people like him. This is a great idea and if done correctly, will reach a big audience on FOX. I'm on board.

LOL.  The first time I activated the demo I was confused.  All it did visually was show the Marquette logo on the screen and then go dark.

Then I picked my phone up off my desk and tried again.

Yikes - if the Badgers and other schools already do this, then shouldn't it fall under the same scrutiny as unoriginal chants that the student section picks up.  The board should be in an uproar!

It was pretty damn cool. Predictably, all the lights were coming from the upper deck and ends, virtually none in the middles.
