Wow!!

1.  As much as I want to give it to the Engine, HE had the best game of the season, so HE.  32, 10 and  6.
1a. The Engine. Great job running the offense and shooting. Great game.
3.  Hanie. His D on Dunham was phenomenal. I know Dunham got points but Hanie shadowed him pretty damn well.
4.  Du.  Hit some big shots.

Go Warriors!

If you would have told me Carter would go 5-7 from 3, I would have said hands down he has to be the SOTG.

But Henry, one of the best games by a MU player since Novak re. Uconn.  Easy Easy decision, HE for SOTG.

Just about any other win and the Engine's performance would have easily been SOTG.

Has their ever been co-SOTG?  With Engine's performance their is no win.

Also Traci played at another level.

Congrats to a team that put it together.

Henry. Can we start being positive again now?
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Henry is obvious but Traci going off like he did was the key ,I think, to keeping too much pressure on HE

HE-man!!

Traci

Wojo mentioned on 540 right after the game that they are finally starting to figure out what a "good shot" is and taking confident outside shots after ball movement.

With 5+ minutes to go in the game I was going to argue that this game should have co sotg. Then Wojo benched Carter and he did not play. I found that a little bewildering as I felt Haanif was making some critical mistakes. Maybe Wojo was saving Carter to replace Wilson, if Wilson fouled out.
Not playing the last five minutes takes Carter of the picture for me. Great game though and we definitely do not win this game without him.

I post this a lot but the fact that anyone is even thinking Carter could be co-stud shows how much Ellenson is under-appreciated. 32 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. 57% shooting and 14-16 from the line. It's Ellenson. It's not close.

That said, Carter did hit some huge shots and I'm not trying to take anything away from him. But SOTG isn't close.

Two plays stood out for me that really made me stand up and take notice of Henry today:

1) When Roosevelt Jones was killing us with that curl, he went at Henry. Hank used his length to push Jones wide and prevent the easy drive to the hoop. After watching that play seemingly on instant replay all day, it was fantastic to see Henry make a smart, savvy defensive move to stop Butler's go-to.

2) Henry was pinned on the baseline and instead of forcing up a floater or tossing a bad pass, he drove straight at the defense even though there was zero chance of scoring. There was, however, a chance of drawing a foul, which he did and hit both free throws. It wasn't the pretty play, but it was the tough play.

Today was Henry's best game BY FAR in a Marquette uniform. His shot selection was better. Only two three attempts. The first one I wasn't a fan of, the second was late in the shot clock and he drilled it. His offensive rebound putback was monstrous, for a guy who's been relatively invisible on the offensive glass, that was huge. Don't forget, Butler pushed Purdue's front line around. Henry didn't allow that. Very impressed. Will he be able to replicate this? Who knows. But despite Traci's lights out longball performance, despite Duane's clutch baskets, despite everything else good that happened, Henry was the man.

SOTG without a doubt.
