Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo and his staff are trying to put the final touches on their 2017 recruiting class, but the Spartans are working on building beyond that, too.

According to Wisconsin-based basketball writer and scout Mark Miller, Izzo will meet with 2018 power forward Joey Hauser on April 19. Izzo and the Spartans have long been pursuing the 6-foot-8 four-star out of Stevens Point (Wisc.) Area Senior, and Hauser took an unofficial visit to MSU back in February.

Marquette is considered the favorite for Hauser, whose brother plays for the Golden Eagles. Along with the coming meeting with Izzo, Miller reported that Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski had an in-home visit with Hauser on Thursday.

Michigan State is recruiting Hauser, ranked as the No. 11 power forward and No. 25 overall player in the country by the 247Sports Composite, to join point guard Foster Loyer and big man Thomas Kithier in the 2018 class.

I don't think it is lost on anyone that Wojo was in the Hauser living room the moment recruiting reopened. As I've said before, he already knows everything about the MU program.

Joey has a lot of great options.  But just like Wojo is flying out to see Jemarl on the 'off chance' he wants to come to Marquette, many coaches will fly into Central Wisconsin airport on a puddle jumper on the 'off chance' he decides not to play with his brother.
