Thanks.  I probably should have spent more than 15 seconds brainstorming.

16 in 18 years.
(I remembered Wes.  If I had included him, I may as well have added in Diener and Novak)

Who am I missing?

Nolan's tbd

I see Henry, Sam, and Vander as great. Obviously Wes developed into great but more in the pros than anything

Then a whole lot of Robin to some else's Batman.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Vander had 1 year of being really good......first 2 seasons I think most fans were underwhelmed considering his pedigree.

How dare you belittle Ben Brust's stellar radio career?

Quote from: Uncle Rico on June 29, 2026, 05:20:00 PMI don't think many of these guys got jobs hosting sports talk radio shows like Badger basketball players.  Can see why local kids shun Marquette

Iirc he was pretty damn solid defensively even as a freshman. Didn't he mark up against Irving when we played Duke and do a decent job?

The family that got away!

Shaka woulda had a great pipeline

Hard to say they aren't making the right choice for those kids and the family's success

They should be proud, and hopefully if/when the others don't live up to to big bros success they don't feel let down, big shoes to fill

"Little" bro Joey got all the hype, but big bro Sam IMO was the better player.

In everyone's opinion, not just yours.

The Field of 68 was in Saint Louis from June 22-25 to watch some of the top 2028-29 prospects compete in drills and scrimmages. Who stood out and why?

Xavier Skipworth, 6-4, PG, Team Takeover 17u

While he's a 2028, Skipworth has played up against 17u competition all summer with Team Takeover and been their leader. He has such a mature game and naturally took charge of his Team Chicago squad at Elite 100. There isn't a shot on the court Skipworth can't make, and there's not one he's afraid to take. He was aggressive scoring it all week and showcased why he's ranked a five-star and able to hang with 17u competition.

EYBL Stats: 16.8 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.5 apg, 45.7% FG, 42.9% 3FG

Reported offer list: Cal, Creighton, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Marquette, Maryland, Missouri, Penn State, Purdue, Syracuse, USC.

Not sure I get the comparison. Kager hasn't gotten nearly as much hype as Kon. In fact, some on this Board doubted whether MU should recruit him and I don't believe MU ever offered Kager. By contrast, one hoops board moderator claimed Joey might be the best player to ever come out of Wisconsin.

At the end of the day, landing a 6'9" player who has a high hoops IQ, moves and shoots very well, is not afraid of contact, is highly ranked, and has younger brothers who could also be top players seems like a flyer worth taking.

Worked with Wally Ellenson.

It had to be hard to recruit new kids, as retention to Shaka is very important and has 12 or 13 returners the following year.  I can see picking up a point guard, and transfer big man.  Right now not sure there is a big man being recruited?

Quote from: Hards Alumni on June 29, 2026, 10:46:59 AMConsider, that it isn't ambivalence.  Any player in the top 100 RSCI is at least getting a phone call to a player to determine fit and interest.  If there isn't a good fit, and there isn't mutual interest both parties move on.  Your obsession with having kids from Wisconsin play at Marquette is strange.  Not everyone from the state wants to stay home to go to school.

not obsessed. Your vitriol toward my point is...strange. How dare I go against group think and a 20L season.  Rather, I'm suggesting that MU put more effort toward close-to-home high major talent. MU recruits a joker like Hamilton that so far has no biz at this level ...but misses on the likes of Donavan Davis, and others. Maybe Shaka is recruiting state talent. Maybe he has forged relationships with local HS and AAU coaches. I could be totally off base here. But...to see programs such as Iowa State pick off state kids that have that program rockin' while MU is hopin' is frustrating. You'd disagree?

I think we are all aware of what you're saying since it is about all you talk about here.

I know I've pointed this out before but it will never not be funny to me that this guy acts like towns 100s of miles away are the backyard but "out of state" is 30mi away and it's someone else's.

Maybe Davis won't transfer out of Iowa State like the other recent Wisconsin kids did
