Made an IG post about it (shocked he's not too embarrassed to admit he took a visit to this joke of a program that Shaka ruined), liked every single comment people made on it (including Egbuonu's, again, shocked that dude hasn't sued the NCAA to get out of his commitment here, he has to be traumatized by the embarrassment he's getting with people knowing he's going to be playing at Marquette for Shaka Smart).

I was being completely genuine, it was a good game and hopefully he enjoyed his visit. But let it all out, little guy!

Totally agree with all of this.

There is little reason to assume our good players - and we DO have good players, including incoming recruits - will leave just because of the team's poor record. There are many things Marquette can offer them, including playing time, familiarity/comfort and, yes, money.

And if Shaka, assuming he's still our coach for 2026-27, is willing to use all of the roster-building methods available to him, there is no reason we can't be Big East contenders again next season.

Best individual performance: Jaxson Davis

This one was a no-doubter. The state's best player performed like it. The Warren star went off for 51 points in a title game romp over Kenwood at the Big Dipper Holiday Tournament. Davis averaged 31 points a game in the four tournament wins.

I bet coaches laugh sometimes when they see some of these rankings....... Come to think of it I think I saw an interview with Matt Painter where he laughed at the rankings in regards to Braden Smith.

Not sure how accurate Rivals is but these rankings are pretty generous.

Their industry score has Jack Kohnen at 85 and Kager Knueppel at 91. For those same two, 247Sports has them at 88 and 128, respectively (composite: 65, 111).

I cant imagine anyone at On3/Rivals has seen any of those guys play more than maybe once since their last update over the summer.  So  Im not gonna put a ton of stock into these new rankings.

A 2027 player from the Milwaukee area who may be worth following is 6-3 combo guard Jaihir "Zeak" Jones from Dominican.  Has had at least 3 30 plus point games this year and is a very good perimeter shooter.  Good athlete as well.

What's your feel on his game and whether Shaka can get him to MU or even should get him to MU.  Just curious what your thought are.
