Right. Will believe it when I see it but it'd be negligent of him not to hit the portal after this season. Yes, I know we don't currently have an available scholarship, but expecting at least one current player to leave.

In a perfect world we would get a legit big man who can start, a backup PG for Nigel and an actual 3 point shooter.

One can dream.

By all means, lay your rebuttal on me.
I know you loathe most of what I have to say so what are you seeing that I'm not, VBMG. Enlighten me.

Lol. This dude is doing his best to fill in for the dentists.

Our AD is pretty bad at this crap

For someone who's been proven comically wrong over and over, you sure do play it off like you still know what you're talking about.

Quote from: DoctorV on December 02, 2025, 10:58:16 PMHe can't sound any different in a post game press conference.

He's not here to appease me or you.

He's the head guy of a program that could be on the verge of a disastrous season but he's got to do his best to coach what he's got to respectability.

He's trying to win games, and to improve the mentals of those kids in that locker room, and that's all he can do in the moment.

In the presser he said he saw something in Adrien's face that made him play him, and he also saw the opposite in Zaides and he rightfully benched him because he was out of it today.
He did the same with Tre, Damarius, etc.
He's gotta play someone at the 5 and it seems pretty clear that Clark isn't extremely usable just yet, as bad as Caedin has been.

At the end of the day he completely mis-judged the talent and ability many of the guys had, and that's completely on him.

He can't just abandon ship and throw the team under the bus 10 games in, he's got a team to coach and he will do the best he can.
As the Greek proverb says, he made his bed and now it's time for him to sleep in it.

I'd think much worse of him if he didn't try to stay the course the entire season.
What he does when it's over is a whole other story

...but did he tell Zaide that or did he just bench him? Sometimes building relationships is getting angry and explaining why you are angry. Do you think Shaka is pissed, privately of course, at the performance of this team and knows that they can do better or as you say he has over estimated the abilities of his players. Sometime a little tough love with good communication can go along way, but publicly I have not seen it. Except for the freshman this team does not seem motivated.

The Sultan

If there is one thing about Shaka I don't worry about, it is how he communicates with his players. By every indication, that's his strength.

Honestly I think the problem is that he has put too much faith in his player development system.

They aren't going to abandon their messaging and branding 10 games in. I get we are all ticked, but I think we are putting some unrealistic expectations on some social media people.

I think Shaka put all his eggs in the development basket and is a bit deer in headlights on how to fix it. The heater shelter substitutions makes me think he's looking for any lineup to stick on a given night.

So the bookstore isn't shipping all of their RGV gear to the Congo quite yet?

So we missed on Morillo because players are realizing Shaka doesn't put Marquette in the best position to win at a high level.

I think it's an inane, hyperbolic, whiny, baby-like overreaction to something that really just isn't all that worth getting upset over.

Does that help?

This needs to be corrected this coming off season immediately or it will end up getting worse. Huge indictment against shaka and his RG and lack of V program.

Ali Khalifa's agent is salty we didn't pay him to sit on our bench injured last year.

But he seems to be talking about a recruit.

JJ Andrews I don't think was ever leaving Arkansas so that leaves Morillo as the guy it has to be. Unless I am forgetting someone. Guys want to win. Winning gives them more opportunities than anything. Can't win without veteran talent.

Perhaps Shaka is just following orders as the AD and University President realize any huge donations will be directed toward new academic infrastructure and not the athletic department thus not having the financial resources to compete for high level athletes and be in a position to compete and win National Championships. Kentucky's athletic department is now an LLC. Will MU do the same?

Yeah, that's not happening. There is money being donated toward athletics and NIL right now. The issue with agents was always about them negotiating a high NIL payment than the standard schedule that Marquette offers.

There really isn't much reason for a private university to do this.

Kevin is talking about JJ.
Daniel is mad about marquette not playing ball with his guys. (largely transfers)

Alex did have an agent. (they probably worked out a deal where we don't deal with him)
