$EC bound....

Does Pearson rule out anyone we were recruiting?

If we got another commit in the near term, I would bet on Alex Egbuonu.

We are getting old but it's better than the alternative..........

Ps for those that care about such things.......he is the 14th ranked overall player in the 2028 class according to ESPN.

Crap. There was an era (up until yesterday) that the staff was known to ID kids early as big potential guys before others did. Now I guess we've completely changed, battling for undergrad burger boys. Gotta think portal potty transfers will be coming soon.  #pray

The only recruits Pearson would rule us out for are guys like Andrew Jensen: aka Pearson backup plans. Brew mentioned it but Alex Egbuonu would be my favorite if we get another quicker commit. He's blowing up right now (recent Texas, Alabama, Auburn offers), but we've been in a great spot for months and maybe Shaka presses him for a commitment sometime this summer like we saw with our 2025 class last summer.

Case in point, we've been out on JJ Andrews for a long time now. Bummer, since he seemed like the caliber of recruit that would open up that next tier for us. But I personally respect Shaka and staff putting their cards on the table in the form of a commit-able offer, and moving on if a guy doesn't jump on it. Same thing happened with Cam Ward last year. Then we avoid the Wojo cases where we're "in" on Nico Mannion, Quentin Grimes, even Karim Mane but really had no shot and just spun our gears and wasted time.

Tarris Bouie is the other guy I'd love to see us pick up steam with. Johnston, Pearson (albeit 2025 reclass), Egbuonu, Bouie after Miletic, Stevens, James, Phillips after Parham, Owens would be as much LEGIT talent as Marquette has brought in in a 3-year span in my time as a fan. Let's get it done!

Sanon was a Shaka recruit but I agree with your overall point.......you have to know when to move on.

Didn't Wojo recruit Sanon in 2019-2020? I thought he visited in 2020.

I believe MU offered him in April of 2023 according to 247.

Considering he was a freshman in the 2024 class I doubt he ever visited when Wojo was still here.

You might be thinking of someone else?

Yep, you're totally right.
I was thinking of Karim Mane haha. Thanks for catching that.
