I don't think so, and I don't think they exactly snuck him from us. I think ISU and MU were always the front runners with ISU the betting favorite.

No.  Batemon was always an Iowa State lean.

The anticipated "good news by July 4" is unclear at this point.

It might be referring to Nigel James (rumored MU commitment but not publicly announced).  There may have been a mixup regarding his timeline.

The other main targets appear to be Adrien Stevens and Cam Ward.  Latest report on Stevens said he will be cutting his list in August.  Ward's timeline is unknown (at least publicly).

We will see what happens.
