Sir Mohammed will make his college announcement on Saturday at the start of the Boys Elite 24 game on ESPNU at 8 PM ET. Mohammed is currently ranked no.71 in the ESPN 100 for the class of 2024.
His final schools are Notre Dame, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Villanova and Marquette.

It seemed like we really let off the gas following his visit. Not sure if that was his call or ours, but it sure doesn't sound like he'll be enrolling at MU.

Is it a red flag? Or a Cooper Flagg? Cooper tonight just reclassified to 2024 and lists Duke and UConn as his top two suitors. Of course he does. He  is an elite rim protector who would actually fit perfectly in Shaka's system. Likely one and done, however, so not a culture fit. However, he could plug an Oso large hole upon Ighodaro's likely 2024 exit. Could we land a #1 recruit? Not sure we're even involved.

Not a flag at all.  it isn't like the coaching staff attends the announcement or the kid travels to the committed school right after.  In a world of modern technology you can setup your iphone to have global reach, there are plenty of online options, and the recruit would most likely tell the coaches prior to any announcement anyway.  Shaka already knows the answer.  This is just for us.  It would be equally meaningless if he waited until the day after we got back.

Matthew Hodge is probably the most involved player in 2024. Visiting next month.

Yes, they're still involved. But any time the Duke/Kansas types also get involved, that's an uphill battle.

They will try. But i don't think Marquette should be expected to be involved heavily when it gets near the finish line.

Duke and UVA will be there at the end. Alabama will throw their hats in the ring. Wisconsin will convince themselves they they are in the lead when they might be behind Marquette right now. Marquette has a chance, but unless they announce him going on official visit, I don't see it as likely.

He has three official visits in September first Alabama, the weekend Alabama plays Texas in football to open SEC play. Second Virginia, for his second official visit with them, going straight from their to his third official visit at Duke.

From the little bit I've heard it sounds like MU is firmly in the mix. I'd still bet on UVA, but we shall see.
