And are also HUGE in the digital and social media space where they gain extra eyeballs and further penetration. The "woke NBA" isn't struggling in any way.  As evidenced by the skyrocketing salaries
You maybe 100% right but Jodan made $35MM per year in the '90s. I don't think most are making much more now. But I agree the NBA is doing very well.

MJ made $33 million in 97-98, but the next highest paid player that year was Patrick Ewing at $20.5 million and third was Horace Grant (yes, Horace Grant) at $14.2 million. The league average that year was $2.16 million.

Last year, 16 players made more than $33 million, 47 made more than $20.5 million and 71 made more than $14.2 million. The league average was $8.2 million.

Not only that, but the NBA is the league with the youngest television audience outside of soccer.  Ten years younger than NCAA men's basketball BTW.

Furthermore, the NBA is the most watched American league internationally and its not even close.

The idea that the NBA is struggling because a bunch of old, white guys are offended that they are "woke" is a very myopic view of the situation.

If anyone is available, I'm doing a bake sale this weekend for Marc Lasry and Wes Edens.  In 2014 they sank their combined life savings ($500 million) into the Bucks and today the Bucks are barely worth $1.5 billion.

I would love if you could all stop by, buy some scones and support Marc & Wes.

Thanks in advance! Together we can save Marc & Wes from the Wokeness that is killing them.

The NBA is so woke they have banned Gluten from their bake sales.  Paleo all day.

He cut Providence,  X, Rutgers, VCU, and Penn St from his top 8. Always felt like Miami and Georgetown were the leaders. Glad we're in the convo too.

Now, back to recruiting ...

Sounds like he'd be a solid signing. Go get him, Shaka!

For better or worse, MU has the first visit, Sept. 3. He's at Miami Sept. 10 and Georgetown Sept. 17.

As recruiting weekends go, the Appalachian State-Miami football game on September 11 is going to be hard to top.

Now that we have Emarion Ellis on campus, I feel like we could beat Georgetown in football, maybe even Miami if Kam & Stevie have decent hands and good route discipline.

eh.  I've been to a dozen Miami football games.  Their fanbase is the worst of the worst.  Maybe he'll be turned off.

If recruits were judging us vs. a Football Saturday on an Power 5 campus, Miami is the school I would want to go up against.  Seems like the worst there is, no offense Illinois.

Well, a recruit at a Miami game may not be paying much attention to what's going on on the field.  There will be plenty for the recruits to pay attention to besides the game.  That is a good thing for Miami recruiting regardless of the quality of the game.

Yes...the assaults, the batteries, the drunken morons, etc., etc.

When I was going to games, they still played at the old Orange Bowl so to be fair the fan base at games has probably changed quite a bit.
