Never surprised what gets people's undies in a bunch around here.  Pretty sure Shaka and his team are not taking recruits to Applebees.

He mentions how on the official visit that he picked his own restaurants and sites and the MU staff commented that he's showing THEM the hot spots.  That's concerning and I know it'll get better over time, but it would seem obvious to get some local knowledge from people who've been here and know the city to help plan official visits.

Chase Ross offer.   Combo guard from Texas.

Have you noticed the players Chris Beard has gotten at Texas, especially the transfers?  Remember this is a guy few people had even heard of before he got to TTU.

He's cleaning up at Texas.   Very impressive stuff

Cincy's been way better than Marquette in KenPom in recent history.

Not really. In one season, they were way better. Otherwise, it's been pretty close.
2017: Cincy 23, MU 32
2018: Cincy 4, MU 53
2019: Cincy 29, MU 33.
2020: MU 31, Cincy 44
2021: MU 83, Cincy 116

FWIW, that highly ranked team in 2018 didn't make it out of the opening weekend of the tournament.
And, as has been mentioned, the Cincy program is a dumpster fire right now.

Let's hope he soon adds Soblemans , Broken Yolk and Real Chili to his list ...😎

It certainly was, though I think Wes Miller gets at least a little benefit of the doubt as he tries to build it back up.

Some would argue that Beard already is a great coach. Some might say that to be "great," you have to win an NCAA title, or at least have multiple FF appearances. But that time very well could be coming for him. He really could be the next great coach in college hoops.

Thanks for doing the homework I should have done before simply accepting 4ever's statement regarding Kenpom as factual. My bad.

I really cannot see Bond going to a weakened AAC team vs. a BE team poised for a major turnaround during his college playing years. Now UVA? I could easily see him heading there. Let's hope he maintains his enthusiasm for Marquette and sees us as his chance to be a hometown hero.

The dude hit two buzzer beaters while leading his team to a state title (videos in the article).  Already had an offer from Texas, guessing Shaka was a part of that:

It will be interesting to see how Shaka does in going after Texas talent that Beard also wants. I hope our guys wins his share of those battles.

If he lands Bond he is off to a really good start for the '22-'23 season. Right now, all he has to sell is the promise that he can turn Marquette around.

That and he can send kids to the NBA. That goes a pretty long way as well.

So, this Leon Bond that folks are drooling over isn't a top-150 player?

Is he a late bloomer, or are the rankings simply "wrong"?
