Someone should green-light that project.

PG that is pretty definitive.  Inside info or gut feeling?

No not definitive. But i've got a friend who gets good recruiting intel on some of our battles over the years.

To this point it's always ended up correct when I have said it on here. But if these crystal balls are to be believed he may be wrong for once.

Which would be incredible.

Has this article on Holmes been posted?

https://www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2020/10/22/21529707/daron-holmes-marquette-arizona-commitment-predictions-2021-recruiting

Could one of Arizona's top targets be off the board soon?

Soon after DaRon Holmes said he will be making a "big announcement" this weekend, two Crystal Ball predictions for his recruitment were submitted in Marquette's favor, the only Crystal Ball predictions that have been submitted to date.

Arizona and Marquette are two of the four finalists in Holmes' recruitment, the others being the California Golden Bears and Dayton Flyers.

Holmes will be a big get for whoever he commits to. The 6-foot-8 forward is the No. 38 player and No. 10 power forward in the 2021 class, per 247Sports composite rankings.

Before leaving Goodyear's Millenium High School for Florida's Montverde Academy, Holmes was the 2019-20 Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game.

It may or may not be a coincidence that Holmes took a step forward in his recruitment the same day that a Sports Illustrated report said Arizona has received its NCAA notice of allegations.

Wow. This would be a GREAT get! Fingers crossed.

Eric Bossi - On Holmes ability to play on the wing

I mean, I guess anything is possible but I would say -- at least based on when I last watched Holmes online during the summer- that he's got a long way to go to play the three. He's a long, athletic and high motor forward who is at his best when he's running the floor, crashing the glass, getting tips and using his quickness to get to the rim. He makes himself much easier to guard when he is taking a lot of jumpers (form looks fine but he shoots a low percentage) and doing a lot of dribbling. The obsession of being a wing player always confuses me.

Hi PGs. What do you think of the article I posted?

I am not saying your friend is wrong. I am the opposite of a "recruiting guru." I get most of my info on the subject from Scoop -- and connected guys like you.

But I saw that article, and it made me hopeful in this case.

There's not much else to say. From what I've heard it likely isn't going to be MU. Of course, that information could be wrong and I hope it is.

There has been more than a few that have gone down to the wire, I think the biggest lose over the years was Scooter McCray, then came his brother with him and
maybe the final straw under the Al coaching tree, was Joe Wolf.  Think that was near the end for Rick Majerus.

those are the only two that still feel painful for me but I've only followed MU since 08-09 so I wouldn't recall Joe Wolf or the McCrays. From what it sounds like though it definitely makes sense why those would still sting.
