In actual recruiting news, Hunter was at the game vs Purdue last night.  I asked another student today "Did ya see that Marquette game last night?" Hunter happened to be walking by and said he "saw it live and in person."  Big smile.

If Wojo wants him, Hunter seems pretty excited about MU.

How do you see Hunter as a college player?  What type of player is he?

Who is this Hunter?  Hunter Pence?

Very skilled and quick backcourt player with deep shooting range. Good feel for the game, a solid defender and a player with a big upside due to his strong work ethic. Started for the varsity team as a freshman at Racine St. Catherine's and averaged 11.2 ppg en route to earning honorable mention all-league honors in the Metro Classic Conference. Outstanding vertical jumping ability.

I can confirm that he was there.  I had a feeling that the young guy in the next skybox over might be a recruit.  Had no idea who until I just clicked on the 247 link with his pic.

Great to hear. I would love a class that centers around Hunter and Kendall Brown.

Here's hoping he kept watching the second half!

If he's like kids I know from 10-40 years old (they're all kids to me!), he might have wandered away when it looked like a blowout ... but he kept checking his phone, saw us coming back, and then started watching again. If so, he had to be impressed.

His high knee socks are the element Marquette has been missing.

I think I saw him play in the border wars shootout a couple years ago. Don't remember him specifically but that whole St. Cats team was very young.

Talked with someone at halftime who must be pining for meat-summit initiation rites and he voiced the typical refrain:

"If Dawson is watching this game, we can kiss him goodbye..."

Suck it.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

Again, if Dawson happened to stop watching at halftime, he almost surely found out that we were rallying and started watching again. And if that happened, he ended up thinking, "What a great comeback! I want to be part of that! I can just see being out there with Koby, Greg, Jamal, Theo, Oso and Justin. That team has great heart, and a coach who knows how to motivate. Sign me up!"

Much to the chagrin of the few Scoopers who hate Wojo so much they prefer celebrating his failures to our winning games.

We've been assured by the people you are referencing that this is a false narrative.  If we happen to lose, great, but they are not rooting for it.  😉

I'm going to go out in a limb and say our game had a 0.00% impact on Dawson's decision. And had the second half gone identically to the first half it would've had a 0.00% impact on Dawson's decision.

But I'm guessing Justin and Oso held off on putting their NLIs into the fax machine to see what would happen in the Purdue game. Then shredded them at halftime. Then had MU send over new NLIs after the game and put them through!

Anyone check on Guru today?

Mm-hmm. Every time I want to give them a pass, I look at a game thread or some other incendiary thread and it sure looks like many of them take glee in our struggles.

I think you are 100% right. I was merely countering those who felt Dawson X'd us off his list at halftime.

guru prefers commenting when things are bad. See, he is such a "competitor" that he expects things to go well, so there's no need to bother with Scoop in those situations. I believe that is how he has explained his absence when we win and his big-time presence when we lose.

Exactly.
I mean, sure, they flood the board when things go poorly and vanish when things go well. But that's just because they're out celebrating the team's success.

You are off base with this comment. Very few are rooting for Wojo to fail. There is nothing wrong with questioning things. Fact of the matter is Wojo is in his 6th year as head coach and has 0 NCAA tournament wins. I hope like hell he succeeds because his success is Marquette's success, but the incessant "I told you so" posts are getting old and tired on both sides.
