Some of the guys you people arent mentioning like Desmond Polk are still priorities, trust me
Of course Desmond Polk will be wearing the Blue and Gold as we'll strike out with all our "A" & "B" list recruits.
 At the November signing day news conference Wojo will be touting Desmond Polk and Georgia transfer Riley Crean (a preferred walk-on) as two players that embody the Marquette spirit and who will help us compete in the lower tier of the Big East!

Land Osa and you have a really good start to the class. If you can get a crown jewel with those two like a Suggs, Garcia,  or Davis, you have to feel pretty good about the class. After that,  you can sign one or two projects and be set. Get another crown jewel or even another top 100 type recruit and you could have something special.

Suggs visit is implied here, just doesn’t give specific time.

MU has 3 guards coming back next year with Akanno a 4th, if they do not sign a guard they will be fine anyway.  There is also the 800 transfers
a year, and guards are easier to find then bigs in spring.

2020 combo guard Keith Dinwiddie committed to San Diego State. Marquette had shown interest (but not offered) over the summer. That also I believe leaves SDSU with only one open scholarship. They are also after MU target Coleman Hawkins.

We've already got a really good start to the class with Justin Lewis (#72 in the latest RSCI rankings, compared to Markus at #71 when he signed with Marquette).

Like Henry and Markus, Justin has experience in USA Basketball. He's got good size (6-8/200) with a versatile inside-out game. Soft touch on his jump hook down low. Seems to have a good feel for knowing when to crash the offensive boards from the video I've seen. Can hit turnaround jumpers in the post/on the baseline from 10-15 feet. Decent handle to dribble in space, create his own shot and drive the lane from the perimeter. His range extends out to the three-point line, with a high-arcing rainbow shot.

His length and versatility should make a nice complement to Theo, Brendan and company. Right now I'd expect him to contribute at least 10-15 mpg next season (depending on how he looks during his senior season and who else we sign in the meantime).

If we can land one of our top two guard targets -- R.J. Davis (#47 in the latest RSCI rankings) or A.J. Hoggard (#69) -- we'll have the foundation for a really strong 2020 class. Davis would be the most highly ranked MU guard recruit since Vander Blue (#48 in the class of 2010). My guess is that these two are top priority over Dawson or Osa at this point. We can always use quality depth at guard.

Adding Davis/Hoggard plus Dawson (#31) or Osa (#88) would have the potential to be a very special recruiting class -- likely equaling the Class of 2015 with Henry (#9), Haanif (#87), Matt (#95), Traci (4-star) and Sacar (3-star).

Same here. Based on what I saw in the open practice and overseas scrimmages, I'd be surprised if Symir redshirts this season. Looks like a player to me. But you can never have too many good ballhandlers and outside shooters. I'd be fine if Marquette recruited a point or combo guard with every single class.

MU needs size.That is priority Number 1 and Dawson Garcia is the top target of the staff.Other than Theo there is nobody else on roster with size

With the departures of four primary rotation players (Markus, Sacar, Ed and Jayce) -- including two if not three starters -- Marquette will basically need everything: ballhandlers, outside shooters, slashers, on-ball defenders, rebounders, inside scorers and post defenders. Would love to see MU land one from each of Davis/Hoggard and Dawson/Osa -- and maybe a wing from somewhere.

If there was ever a year to hit the grad transfer market hard, it'd be next year.  Getting top high school players is very important, but replacing multiple Senior starters (including the programs all time leading scorer) takes more than just a couple 18 year olds (no matter how talented they are).

I did forget Suggs -- mostly because Gonzaga probably has the inside track. But we are in his final three. It would be amazing if Jalen committed to Marquette.

I agree that the Zags have the inside track. That said, I think the longer he stays uncommitted the more it can help our cause. I feel like if it was that much of a slam dunk, it'd be done...but that is pure speculation.

If history is any indication, Marquette's 2020 recruiting class will include at least one if not two transfers. But right now we have absolutely no idea who would be available or interested, or even what type of transfer:

1) Traditional transfer (sign with MU after the 2019-20 season and sit out the 2020-21 season like Andrew Rowsey, Ed Morrow or Koby McEwen);

2) Mid-season transfer (sign with MU after the first semester of the 2019-20 season, sit out the spring and fall and join the team for the second semester sometime in December 2020 like Luke Fischer or Harry Froling);

3) Graduate transfer (sign with MU after the 2019-20 season, having completing an undergraduate degree but with athletic eligibility remaining like Katin Reinhardt or Jayce Johnson).

Options galore. From what I've seen with Marquette and other teams, the grad transfer route can be a relatively high-risk strategy. You never know for sure who's going to be on the market until the season ends. And it can be difficult to evaluate talent from conferences with a lower level of talent.

Agreed. If his mind was already made up for Gonzaga, why would he wait so long before committing? (Maybe that's just wishful thinking.)
