You mean he'll not only pick us but stay for 3 seasons, helping us win two national titles?

Yes!

Exactly right.

The argument for Mannion is really simple.

Son: Come here and we will win and you will be part of something special.

Go there and we will win and have something special.

It's up to you.

Al used that one more than once.

I'm excited about our team for next year and thereafter and if we get Mannion, my God we will have something special. If we don't it still will be special.

I'm excited about our team too - but it was a little easier for Al to tell recruits he'd win big without them when he'd already won big without them.

You guys know where Wojo has had success?  With families that truly believe MU will be a transformative experience for their son in areas well beyond the basketball court.  Markus, Sammy and others are all fine students and outstanding young people.  I think chick told me the summer school GPA was like 3.7 for the basketball team this year.  Thurl Bailey knows the Mannion family well.  So I very much believe that if Nico and his parents buy into Cura Personalis, he's heading our way.

...not to mention the obvious that Markus is an Arizona kid as well and it is my belief that the players do half the recruiting.

No matter what happens with Mannion, that's one big reason why this year is SO important. We have to win and prove convincingly that we're about to storm the gate of basketball's elite teams. Do that and Mannion will be glad he came here.

Don't play defense and Mannion will, well, it aint going to happen so...

So if I'm remembering correctly, didn't Nico say he was waiting to make a decision until something like January?

That was the plan, though now that he's down to two and both visits will be done by late October, it wouldn't surprise me to see that timetable moved up. He might even be an early signee.

Agreed......players always have a plan for recruiting......waiting until a certain month......taking all 5 visits......many times it doesn't work out that way.

This recruitment seems to be accelerating.

What exactly would BD say that we don't already know?  We want Mannion and I'm sure the staff thinks we can get him.

Think this may be a two horse race between Mannion and Bishop but until Watts (and Lundy) officially eliminate us...

Zona did an in home visit with Mannion yesterday. Arizona faithful hoping for a commitment today. Anyone got a flight tracker on Stan?

This recruitment seems to have really accelerated. Let's get it done!
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Yes, but do they believe that because there are signs pointing that way, or because they are still completely discounting Marquette as a serious contender?  I saw one person saying that Marquette was only in the mix "as a courtesy to Stan."
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Yes, because the best way to be courteous to someone is to string them along with no intention of picking them.

I've been looking and I honestly haven't found any reason for their confidence other than:

1. We're Arizona
2. They're Marquette
3. Nico's from Arizona
4. Crystal Bowel

They could very well be right but I think Nico will make his visit here. I could be off but this feels like the Joey Hauser recruitment to me. Recruit has dozens of people whispering in his ear that he should stay home in Arizona but his heart is leaning elsewhere.

Not seeing a lot of quality or insight on their boards.  Paraphrasing a bit but my personal favorite was a reference to "Scottie" Howard who they'd "love to have now" but "probably wasn't to UofA standards" during his recruitment.

Stan is in Phoenix. Guessing we're having an in-home visit with Mannion today.
