I think your string of comments about "if the Badgers had a bad night, they willows by 30" is beyond ridiculous.  Of course!! If anyone has a bad night against Kentucky they could lose by 30. Ask West Virginia! I also think it's ridiculous that you would think this badger team could have that bad a night that they could actually lose by 30. Too disciplined.  Quite a ridiculous comment/"prediction".  Sounds like a more hopeful prediction than an actual prediction based on college basketball knowledge.

Here is the exact quote:

Off night and it's just like West Virginia, they lose by 30

And, for the record, I'm predicting they lose 59-0, because that is Bucky's score the last time they played a championship in Lucas Oil .... The football B1G championship against tOSU, where Bucky was a 4.5 point favorite.

Please waste time and effort ANALyzing that too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Big_Ten_Football_Championship_Game

Wisconsin was favored by 4.5 points over Ohio State, but Ohio State won by a score of 59–0, making the game the largest point spread upset in college football history.

tOSU covered by 63.5 points, I'll by that that was the worst loss in college football history.

So, the last time Bucky played in Lucas Oil, they played the worst game in college football history.
Next the basketball team will do the same in perfect symmetry!

Badgers are a fantastic team this year, as they were last.  I like Kaminsky, Dekker- really their whole squad.  Bo deserves a shot at the title.  Tremendous coach.  I don't get hung up on the rivalry.  Great team that deserves props, especially after the W this evening.

Wisconsin played incredibly well and were well coached. Very impressive win.

Badgers were better last night.  And I really believe that Kentucky wouldn't have gone undefeated in any other major conference, look at who they played on the road.  Their toughest game was Georgia, in- conference.  They did win at Louisville.  I'm happy for my Badger friends, and I hope they lose to Duke by 30.

Tums Festival

Not having grown up in Wisconsin and being a Marquette grad, I can't root for the Vadgers. Their arrogant fanbase and sense of entitlement are insufferable. Will be cheering for our coach's alma mater on Monday night.

Oh I will analyze it some more.  "If they play like West Virginia [like crap] they will lose by 30."  Very good college basketball insight. Anyone loses to Kentucky by 30 if they play like that.

Yeah, because Duke's fan base is nothing like that  ::)

Good point. And understandable if you're not from the state and don't want them to win.

Shhh, only if Tom Crean as coaching.....bad nights don't happen, it's all on the coach....hopefully teal isn't needed here.

Living in Wisconsin, you get a first hand dose of how insufferable UW-Madison fans are. Baffles me why any in state MU grad would want them to win.

Funny how some of us from out of state root for Wisconsin just because it brings back fond memories of our four years in the state. We always considered Notre Same the team we had to beat, and the in-state students always thought it was Wisconsin.

When the two played hack to back in the tournament a few years back I was surprised that 90% were the biggest anti-wisconsin fans in the building.

My sons really made fun of me for jumping up and down cheering - all while wearing a Marquette T-shirt.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I want Bucky to lose to Duke. I want them to go 0-30 next season. I will never root for them. And yes, I second Chicos in saying I'm glad I don't live in Wisconsin right now; that would be very tough to handle.

Having said all that, like most folks here I truly respect what Wisconsin has done. Outstanding team that plays the way I'd like the team I coach to play.

And I really don't think Bucky will be extraordinarily affected by "we've already won the championship" feelings. Maybe if the title game was the next day, but it will be 48 hours later and I'm pretty sure they'll be back in game mode. Why should it be any different for Bucky than it was for the 1991 Dookies 2 days after they beat UNLV or for the 1980 U.S. hockey team 2 days after they beat the Russians?

Intelligent, hard-working, well-coached teams don't fall into that trap, and I consider Wisconsin to be all of those things. If the 3s aren't falling for Bucky but they are for the Dookies, I doubt it will have been because Wisconsin was still thinking about Kentucky.

As much as I want Duke to win, I really do think it is a pick-'em game.

Not me, pulling for a Duke win by the narrowest, gut wrenching of all margins.

MarquetteDano

Starting watching the game a Wildcat fan but must admit by the end of the game was kind of happy the Badgers won.  I really don't like Kentucky.  Nothing against the current players.  Just don't like the program, fans, nor Cal.

I think it was a bit easier watching the Badgers win knowing they have Duke on Monday who beat them in their own house.  Hopefully Duke can win on Monday.

Yep. If they lose the title game, we'll all be over this in a year or two. If they win it all, they have permanent bragging rights until (God-willing) Marquette wins a title.

I can't do it. I just can't be happy for them. Watching them here makes me sick. Watching a program where 99.998% of their fans don't know the team exists until the last weekend in March yet they insist they are die-hard and I should be too. And the other 6 fans, the ones that know the season starts in November, they're all Marquette hating douchebags.

It galls me how they backed into this. And I know...hard work, four year players, blah blah blah, but no. They backed into this. 20 years ago they scarcely had a basketball team. They aren't a basketball school. They'll never be a basketball school. Bo found a bunch of second rate recruits (amazingly, I might add) and turned them into a national contender.

This whole thing pisses me off. It may not seem fair or rational, but it's reality. I'll never cheer for them and I'll damn sure never be happy or congratulatory for their success. I can acknowledge they are good, very good, but that's it. Beyond that I would rather everyone wearing Badger Red spontaneously combust than reading about them winning a national championship in basketball.

Isn't this all football-first schools?  Is tOSU or Michigan any different?  Oregon?

This kind of reminds me of the US in soccer.  Mexican fans HATE that we have recently consistently beat them.  It's funny because soccer is THEIR game and here in the US, it is what, fifth most popular?  We beat them at their own game.

I can't stand the Big10-15, and if Wisky wins the crowing will never end, the state isn't big enough for some of the egos who reside in Madtown. But Bo is a good coach and has a ton of patience and finally broke thru with 4 and 5 year players.

I find this interesting, mainly because I cheer for both sports. I know plenty that have had bad relations with Mexican fans, but in my experience, it's the team I really don't like and the fans I'm fine with. Wisconsin is the opposite. Not much gripe with the players (okay, they whine a TON, but Bo teaches them to do that) but their fans are collectively asshats.
