Just a stupid thread - If there were actually 'rumors' out there, Buzz would have spoken to Duane and would not allow him anywhere near a Marquette uni if true.

Our "insider" needs to go back to watching TMZ - it would seem to be more his style.

Duane and Jamil are cousins, if Duane didn't know Buzz's style prior to coming to Marquette, it's not saying much about Duane or his family. On that same line, if Buzz wasn't talking to Jamil or Duane's coaches, which I can't see Buzz not doing, it doesn't say much about Buzz. This has been a TOUGH year for all of us...to those stoking the rumor mill, don't for the LOVE OF GOD!

As I said, these guys wouldn't be anywhere near a Marquette uniform if they told Buzz they were transferring.

I heard a rumor Marquette is moving to Chicago - the whole school. Makes sense since DePaul is such a mess and especially in the light of the fact that there is a new arena being built and they want to be able to fill it to get the revenue.

Not sayin' it's true - but I heard the rumor and if somebody said it I have to think it is true.

Yeah it was just a coincidence that right after Pat Hazel was caught stealing money by using someone else's debit card he saw 0 minutes the rest of the season but remained in uniform on the bench. Nobody knew he would be transferring after the season though   which is why he was allowed to stay on the bench. And nobody in the athletic department and basketball program ever has an idea when a kid is looking to transfer after the season before they make that announcement  . Again, I would be surprised if it happened but the rumors are not unfounded. If you think players only make their intentions known when a public announcement is made then you don't know how these things work.

Not to mention, imagine how that would look to potential recruits and their parents. "Hey guys, if you go to Marquette and realize it's not the best situation for you and people find out before the season is over they'll just kick you off the team!" Keeping it classy. Not to mention situations like Juan and Jake who decide they want to transfer, things within the program change, and they decide to stay. That'd happen if their uniform was taken away midseason

Duane would have to sit a year.  He could gain a sixth year of eligibility at the end of his career based on this year's injury, but unless he won an appeal he would have to sit a year.

I'm not too worried, but if it happens, it happens.  Life goes on.

2 years of not playing in a game is a loooooong time for a college kid. I don't see anyway he doesn't get 25 minutes next year, so he would really want out to transfer. I just don't see it.

The VB rumors made sense. This doesn't.

Offensively challenged lineups?  Not sure what game you were watching, but the offense after the first 4 minutes was not the problem.  We scored 77 points in regulation.  If it's constantly an offensively challenged lineup, wouldn't we be more towards the 35 we scored against Ohio State?  77 points is not bad at all.  The defensive side of the court...well, that's another case.

I have also heard there's friction there. A lot can change between now and the end of the year, but this isn't just people stirring up the pot for no reason. Smoke and fire and all that.
