Students are a lot richer today. Even allowing for inflation, no way could we have paid Bradley Center beer prices. We were known to sneak in a pint of cheap whiskey, though.

We always bought 1 beer, then used our reserve cans to keep refilling it.

I still can't afford to buy 3 or 4 beers per game. Takes too long and costs too much.

No, it was not misread at all.  I understand that he meant he knew who who Marquette was recruiting, not that he knew every recruit personally.  Anybody outside of the Marquette men's basketball program, even the most inside of insiders, who thinks they know every single player Marquette is going after/recruiting/watching is dead wrong.

Please, please, please get rid of the "I Believe" chant. I'm a student. I hate doing it. It never sounds good, at least last year. Tell the other people up front to not do it. You have until Friday's pre-game pep rallly to come up with a better cheer.

Did we create "Lets go (fill in the blank)" or yelling and jumping up and down when the opposing team is on offense? No chant is purely original so you cant use that argument. Plus a lot of schools do a lot of chants.

Instead of "I believe that we will win," a chant everyone and their mother does, chant "Warriors come out to play." It has the same cadence/ number of syllables, is Marquette specific, makes  sense at the beggining of a game, and would be just generally cool. But its really tough getting anyone to do anything, even if I think its a good idea.

The president will always have to play those political games, despite what they may personally believe. If something the students are doing causes enough stink in the media or among alumni/locals the President has to send out a letter. It's just a crappy part of their job.

I know @anonymouseagle posted this video again to kick off the season http://www.anonymouseagle.com/2013/11/8/5065828/marquette-basketball-pray-video, and it got me thinking that a  simple "Pray" chant tying back to the best intro video ever could be pretty crazy. Lots of different ways to implement...but maybe just start slow and quiet and then build speed and volume.  I'm sure there could be better ways to make it cool.  

Then again it might totally suck, but it would be original.  Also, it's simple enough us stupid alumni might even able to follow it, I know I would

The automatic chant is the dumbest thing ever. Steve Novak was automatic. Gardner is a 79.6% career FT shooter. Last year was his best ever, at 83.5%.

He is very good, especially for a big. But he's not automatic.
