Todd Mayo has had meniscus surgery, no timetable for return given.

This might explain why he missed some of the Scion games.

Also, why you need 13 scholarship players.

big question is if its a repair or meniscectomy, huge difference in recovery time... repair being the longer

MUBB is saying he will be back for the regular season.

Hopefully it will help his jump shot

Not a big deal I had that done in September and still made it to training camp for a fight in February when I was 18
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

LAMUfan

Agree, not a huge deal then, sounds like a menisectomy, just pain, swelling, etc.  post.

A boot? Please, let there be a boot.

If I was Mayo I would demand a boot.  They just look cool.

I'd have him sit until the pajama jammy anyway.

As long as it doesn't have a rubber sole, I think you are good.

Plus, you get into the VIP area automatically if you are in a wheelchair. Not many people know that.

I was back fighting fires 17 days after I got mine done.   But it didn't feel completely pain free for almost a year.

Maybe he should get a second opinion from that world class ortho dude in Indianapolis that Coach Clover is tight with.

Amazed at how well people are taking this news. Other programs would look at Steve Taylor and Todd Mayo having surgery, not to mention Vander's early departure from MU.. and be singing 'woe is me'. I think the unbelievable amount of injuries and other odd happenings for this program over the past several years has built up a tolerance to bad news for a lot of people. Which is good in many ways.

Best wishes for Todd in his recovery and also to ZFB who is considering surgery this fall as well (sequential hermaphrodite).

I think it is also a reflection of the confidence many of us have. This is going to be a DEEP team.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Scoop as a population has failed for not overhearing a Buzz/Mayo conversation outside of the Al about his knee.
