Do we have a younger warrior check in?   Damn, I'm only 26 but not sure I can handle another weekend like that.  Any chance for a relaxing 10 point victory on Thursday?

MUrugger

Do all Old Warriors bark at the TV?  Sent the missus upstairs to watch in solitude.  Later the kids called saying that while watching themselves they knew the parts where I was yelling at the tube.

Glad to see that I'm not alone.

BTW, we have to keep Buzz.  He will take us to another National Championship.  His five year run stacks up with anybody's at Marquette.  He could become legendary.  It would kill me-and Marquette-if he earned a higher profile somewhere else.  And I see him earning a higher profile.

We that remember Al have seen the launch and tenure of several HOF coaches...Boeheim, Knight, Self, K, Calhoun, Pitinio, even Calipari.  Did any of them have a more impressive 5-6 year start than Buzz?  I don't think so.  Scary thing is they all found B-ball's Holy Grail to make their mark.  If MU can't return to the sport's Holy Grail then they still have to find a way to retain their coach.  He's their ticket to get there.

After the Davidson game this was a piece of cake.., class of 69 so lucky enough to have enjoyed Al, first couple years of Crean, all of Buzz and all the crap in between.  So happy to have thrilling ball back at MU!
My daughter called from Nashville to see if I had suffered a stroke..

I survived, but I only want a close game if we win. I turned 60 last year and celebrated it by running the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon in October. Last marathon before that was in 1997. That was tough, but those last 4 seconds were tougher on me.

I'm with you, turned 60 last year also.  Never relaxed until they flung the ball in the air.

<<<<<<  '76 and the Mrs '79... Watched it all and will continue until our hearts give out after another MU close W.. WHO the hell needs to get on a treadmill for a stress test??  Just put a MU game  on the screen... the watch for those EKG changes to show...lol We have been fortunate to see and experience Al... He lived near the Mrs's Uncle in Brkfld and he was also on the Athletic Brd, so Al had been to their house a few times.. It was great.  Lived through those peaks and valley's since then, and survived those, and prob made our hearts stronger to handle these great games..  But I think we're now on our way to another mountain TOP just like Al took us to...  I am fortunate to have a Mrs who knows and loves sports, Esp MU  and the Packers. We love Buzz. He is great for the TEAM, his players and MU.. Keep it up Buzz..  You and your team are true WARRIORS ! ! !

Wife and mother-in-law decided to watch the game with me.   I couldn't yell, swear, jump up and down.    Then, I couldn't sleep because my heart was still pounding.

Compared to Davidson, this was a walk in the park. I was actually comparatively calm (my wife would disagree, I'm sure) except for the final 2.9 seconds.

Totally agree with this. It was such a great game, played at a high level, that I was simply enjoying the entertainment...until that last heartburn-inducing play.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Same here, but a nice, serene outlook to go with my head this morning.

Texting the nieces during the game, my bride indicated that I was checking into the ICU. A bit of head throbbing this AM, but, God, isn't this what it's all about? When it's sweet, it's so great. I was pleading with my Warriors.

Jsglow and I were at Rupp and I am happy to report that we both survived. I did almost pee my pants though.

I can also report that there were no EMTs dispatched to the dried up old fossil Marquette alumni section of the arena.
Have some patience, FFS.

DoggyDaddy

My son texted me to see if I survived yet another close one. I did.
I called my 93-year old MU alumna mother.  She did too.
We all await the Sweet 16.

Love to hear all the stories...WE ARE MARQUETTE!

I texted Lenny's Tap after game and asked "are you alive".  He was!  My reply:  "I'm exhausted".    I had Gonzaga to cheer for immediately after the MU game so had little time to savor MU victory.  Obviously, the results were not as good.  However, as I get older I find the games a little easier to take than say a double overtime loss at Notre Dame in either 1969 or 70.

Grad 1980 here.  Great to see Warrior BB.

omni77

Was at the Omni '77. Starting to feel this could be a team of destiny. We're catching the breaks any good team needs to survive.
