Ya'll asked why I said "selfish plays," and I delivered. Im just tired of Blue putting his head down out of control running into three defenders in the paint. Its whatever, I dont care, we won. But I know someone has to feel me a little. I think Jamil deserves SoG.
Farva:"Give me six Schlitzes."
O'Hagan: "Take it easy, Rod."
Farva: "Open bar, dude!"

But Jamil made stupid turnovers, too, as did Junior.    The good far outweighed the bad for Blue tonight.

um... fast breaks don't involve 3 defenders in the paint. Having said that, there were a couple times tonight where "old/bad" Vander returned and tried to force his way to the rim. But it was never on a fast break and never when anyone else was open.

mileskishnish72

Not his greatest game, but i's Vander.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

Blue, Wilson second.

It's beyond me how anyone who watched all 40 minutes could suggest Lockett.  ?-(

Nobody's gonna mention Wilson hustling back to block a shot on a breakaway, and then burying a three on the other end?  Big momentum changer.

That was huge

brewcity77

Vander. He was the one constant tonight. The turnovers sucked, but he kept us in it early and sealed it late.

Sorry Van, welcome to the 3-timers club J-Wil.

Everyone had bone-head moments tonight.

Blue with 22 points gets my vote for SotG.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Because it's better than nobody trying to take control of the game.  A dead ball turnover from trying to create something versus a desperate bad shot because the offense was stagnant for 35 seconds - is the turnover really worse?  I'll give props to the kid who wanted the team on his back...and his numbers suggest he was the best one for the job tonight.  Sure he shot a ton, but I wouldn't want to redistribute half his shots to guys who just weren't in the flow and hope they came away with a better result - a better ideal on a night when things are working, which wasn't tonight.

Silkk the Shaka

I kinda love how people are bashing Van even though he hit the trey bomb to finally tie it and had 22 points on 50% FG & 100% FT shooting.  He has a game like that last year or freshman year and everyone goes apesh*t with excitement.  Shows how far he's come.

MerrittsMustache

Jamil had a nice game but it's Vander, without question. Anyone picking someone else is, for whatever reason, simply trying to find a reason not to pick Vander.

Go back and watch Blue's fast breaks. There were plenty of times where Blue took the ball to the rack with an open Jamil, Junior, etc., next to him.
I assume you are referencing the play in this highlight. If you notice Blue is about five feet from Jr after he picks up the ball and is heading to the basket. Jr is backing away from Blue towards the corner.  Had Blue passed it Jr would settled for a jumper or backed it out as there were two defenders. Blue made the right play and had the better shot

You also conveniently leave out that Blue stoled the ball.

Don't bring your facts and evidence into this! It doesn't fit the narrative! Didn't you see the 3 defenders waiting for Vander under the basket? And how he just put his head down and ignored all his teammates?

Exactly right. If you can take it all the way, take it all the way. Passing in that situation increases the risk of a TO.

Considering VB started out 1 for 6 is 8-16 looked pretty good. He made shots when needed and he gets my vote. VB really is a target for folks on here. If Junior had similar game the place would be all over it in positive way.

Case in point: Jamil shot 4-10, scored half as many points as Blue and posters are gushing about it.

NO STUD WHEN (We should have) LOST

So should there be a stud in games MU should have won?

RushmoreAcademy

Blue.
Or if he played for UMass, Vandah.

DCWarriors04

#73
Blue and Wilson both should get it, but I'm going with Blue because he stepped up when the team needed him late and carried them while shaking off his 3 game slump.
