Vander Blue. Hit a big three to tie it and two clutch free throws near the end.

Blue
J Wilson
S Taylor

Stretchdeltsig

Jamil Wilson made the difference.

Looked like it was going to Jamil but I'll give it to Vander.

Lockett for his game winning floor dive assist.

Blue for sure.  He score over a third of our points on a slow night.  JWilson for second.

This was actually a bad play by Lockett.  He should have let the Rutgers player touch it as it would have been a backcourt violation for Marq ball. If he did touch it and not get possession then Rutgers would have been able to keep possession. Theoretically we could have turned it over on the in bounds but there were always what ifs

Regardless Blue was the man.

Nobody's gonna mention Wilson hustling back to block a shot on a breakaway, and then burying a three on the other end?  Big momentum changer.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Jim Burr would have probably missed the call.

None of the above. Is Father Kelly an option?
Buzz just said that on the post-game show

After hearing that story I vote for Father Kelly (again).

Jamil Wilson. Vander Blue made baonehead plays, selfish plays, and turnovers the whole game. Jamil was more clutch, even with Blue's free throws at the end. Blue was the leading scorer because he shot so many freaking times.

Blue.  As maddening as his TOs were at times, he was the only one that could put the biscuit in the basket in a game where we sorely needed it.

JWilson #2 for his two huge threes and two huge takes to the rim - one a lefty finish, the other a nice dish to Gardner.  He can't get SOTG though for passing up a wide open three in rhythm to fire a laser to Derrick freaking Wilson under the hoop.  Thought he learned his lesson after Villanova.  He's our best three point shooter.  If he's open on a kick out, I want him thinking shoot as the first, second, and third option.  There is no fourth option.  Aside from that, he has really turned the corner recently and is playing with a much more aggressive mindset.  Really like where his game is trending at the right time of the year.

No doubt Wilson played well, but.. what selfish plays? 4 turnovers is fine. I'm perfectly ok with having a kid shoot 16 times if he makes 50%, you aren't?

Blue had four turnovers.  Too many, but not that much more than Jamil's 2.  Not as bad as you portray.

Blue shot the ball 16 times, but hit 8 of them.  Jamil shot the ball 10 times, and hit 4 of them.

Jamil was great again tonight.  Blue was better.  SOTG.

Go back and watch Blue's fast breaks. There were plenty of times where Blue took the ball to the rack with an open Jamil, Junior, etc., next to him.

And how many of those did he miss that the other guys would definitely have made?

Did Blue play a perfect game? No. And he never does. And is never going to. But he played well enough (and better than just about everyone else on the floor) to get us to a W. Can you imagine what tonight would have been like if he wasn't on the floor?

Next to the "slap of five" criticism, this might be the most ridiculous complaint I have heard about Blue.

I get your point but his USF game was a thing of beauty.

Then he made the right choice taking it himself.   If it is a 2-on-1 and Blue has the ball and Junior is coming up on the wing, I hope Vander attacks.     If it is Jamil, it depends on the angles, but unless the defense completely attacks Vander, I am perfectly content with him taking it in.

Even for a board in meltdown mode the "slap of five" was pretty insane.
