Regardless of whether we pull Butler into this new conference, I think we need to avoid names regarding Catholicism. 

Agree, and I actually see merit in bringing Butler and VCU just to not have all Catholic schools.  Not sure there are any legal problems, but being seen as the "exclusively Catholic" conference could be a recruiting issue as well-most of our players (at least for basketball) are probably not Catholic, and you don't want to create any perception among the 16 year old prospective student athletes in any sport that Catholic Conference schools don't really want you if you're not Catholic.

Is there any chance we can affiliate this league with Jordan Brand?  I mean... telling a kid he can play in the Jordan League would be great.

I have always thought that it was cool that the NHL divisions had real names (Norris, Prince of Wales) instead of directions (East, Central).  Why couldn't our new conference take the same approach?

I'm thinking....I don't know....The McGuire conference?

If the form of the conference ends up as a National conference with all of the top basketball-only (incl Gonzaga & St. Mary's) schools, I think the name "Coast to Coast Conference" would fit quite well.  It would emphasize the National scope of the conference (plus "Coast to Coast" is a recognized basketball phrase)...
