I always like to see what our opponent's fans are saying about Marquette before we play them.  The Notre Dame fans have several threads on the Marquette game.

Assuming you can somehow navigate their dated message board format, here's what they are saying:

thanks for that, Titan

...for the most part they are giving MU fans a lot of love on there, and accurately describing our drinking skills

Here's a quote from one of their boards.....

"They love the Irish in the fall, and want tickets. But rip everything to shreds in the winter, like it's hell on earth in South Bend.
Generally, I like them, just not when we play the warriors in hoops. Alcohol doesn't help
."

I take this as high praise for us Warrior Alum!

I grew up in SB, and loved it this year when USF beat ND in SB.  That touchdown Jesus/we're God's team crap just gets old.  Many residents in SB would tell you the same.  It's kinda embarssing.

ND sucks.  Did I mention, ND sucks?

Skatastrophy

I don't know any MU alumni that root for ND football.

I'm looking forward to unleashing my "Road Warrior" shirt on South Bend this weekend.  Hopefully it's a lopsided game in our favor :)

I like the post too...

"Also a 1/2 empty arena with little student presence. *"

Commenting about the MU vs. SH game.

The Bradley Center is much bigger arena than the Joyce "Rec" Center  ;D  The real question is, why are tickets still available the Thursday before a game?  Or did they all jump on the IU bandwagon?

I know a single MU alum who roots for Notre Dame.  Everyone rips on him for it.

When Notre Dame lost to Syracuse in football a few years back, we were all at Caffrey's and a "F***the Irish" chant broke out when SportsCenter showed the highlights.  He got upset hahahaha.

I see that one of the posters on the ND bard mentioned the large number of Marquette fans that are typically at the Joyce Center for MU games and described them as  "profoundly annoying".

Let's not disappoint them on Saturday!
Have some patience, FFS.

Officiating is key.

Generally, I'd scoff at that, especially pre-game, but it has been true this past week in the BE.

ND Nation is the epitome of psychotic ND fans, the basketball posters are a little more level headed than the football people, but that's not saying much.

I knew a few fellow Marquette students that were ND fans, but most of them were Irish-Catholic from Chicago and in my experience if you're that combo you're are raised to either love or loath ND.

A large portion of the Chicago south siders at MU root for ND football and Duke basketball - a sickening combo.

UGH, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.  That's AWFUL.  That's no way to balance out being a WhiteSox fan.

Seems like they feel pretty confident that they should win this one at home. This game seems a lot like the UW game: they have the home court advantage and will want to grind this game to a pulp. I don't think they are as disciplined as UW and I think we will be able to speed things up more than we were able to in Madison. Either way, I think we have the talent advantage, and that goes a long way... Should be a fun game to watch though

I've always hated ND - would always root for their opponent unless they were playing North Carolina. Hate to say it, but the Domers may have also moved ahead of Syracuse, (stupid) Pitt, and WVa.

Grew up  North Side Irish - Parents had box seats at SB and flew to away games in Fla and Cal
I refused to go to ND (obviously) but do root for the football team as jimmy Clausen is a local kid

Jimmy Clausen has to be the biggest tool in ND history, which is saying a lot.

Went to MU in the70's hated ÑD basketball. Root for ND football now. Tailgate every game. Both mykids went to ND.  Will be proudly wearing Marquette colors at the game Saturday and cheering as loud as I can for Marquette!

Marquette colors are the same as ND colors.

Lots of my friends during my MU years, especially the Irish Catholics, loved ND in football but hated them (of course) in hoops. I had no trouble hating them in both!

As for Saturday, were I an ND fan, I'd be feeling pretty confident, too. ND is playing well lately, they're at home, and we're missing our 2 big men. Flip the situation around -- we were playing a rival at home, we'd been playing well and they were minus two key guys at one position -- and I'd be feeling good about our chances, too.

That being said ... we're gonna win!!! (He said, hopefully.)
