I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I'll say 10/10 too. Wouldn't be shocked if the voters put Baylor ahead of us.

dwaderoy2004

Baylor lost at iowa st. Not sure why they would jump us.

JamilJaeJamailJrJuan

I am guessing 8/8. I think Michigan State will fall to 9/9 having lost twice this past week, and losing a significant contributor in Dawson for the rest of the season today.

After going 2 and 0 last week       ;)

Hoping for a good week in Maui to make this thread relevant

Make it 5-0 and we'll be ranked. 4-1 might be good enough depending on whether that loss comes Tuesday (unranked) or Wednesday (ranked).

Anybody have the link for the website that lists each AP writer's top 25? I seem to remember something like that from the end of last year, but I can't seem to find it.

Don't really know how we could be ranked and Butler is not...

Obviously.

Butler has 2 losses but has played a tougher schedule than we have, pretty much dominated UNC on a neutral court and beat us head-to-head on a neutral court. Those 2 losses will probably keep them from being ranked, but of course they should be ranked ahead of us. We would expect the same if the situation were reversed.

Then again, logic doesn't always apply to these things.

MU received 7....7 total votes in the AP

http://youtu.be/sBjNpZ5t9S4

You seem surprised by this. We have beaten two cupcakes despite not playing particularly well in either game, a bad USC team and, in Mississippi State, one of the worst teams any of us have seen this season. We have played one good team and lost to that team -- which, by the way, isn't ranked either. (Although Butler did receive 20 votes.)

Frankly, I'm not sure what those who voted for us were looking at.

I want to be ranked, of course. And if we win at Florida we will be. If we don't win there -- and we will be fairly heavy underdogs -- we won't even get 7 votes.

For what its worth, only 2 voters voted for us

Randy Rosetta - Times Picayune (20th - 6 points)
Mike Hunt - MUBB Beat Writer (25th - 1 point)

Hunt and Rosetta also had UCLA ranked, yikes.

Hunt just didn't have a good voting week. Also decided that Duke should be ranked below Louisville and Memphis ranked #18. Overall just terrible. If he isn't going to take the time to do it correctly, he shouldn't vote.

Hey Mike Hunt......

One of the things that Enlund did was post how other sports writers voted each week.  That was good info.

Would appreciate it if you do so too.  Nice job so far this season.

Not (yet) necessary:

We had no votes last week

Seven points this week.  Here is the breakdown ...

Randy Rosetta - Times Picayune (20th - 6 points)
Mike Hunt - MUBB Beat Writer (25th - 1 point)

If we beat Florida Thursday, then this might be needed.  Lose that game, or tonight's game (UMBC) and it is not needed.
