He doesn't get an AP vote, correct?

To elaborate a little. BrewCity77's answer.....there are 65 AP voters I believe. Jon Rothstein, Seth Davis, are CBS colleagues of Parrish that are voters. Some are beat writers like Ben Steele. Some are Dick Vitale (yes he has a vote)

shoothoops

AP vote Feb 3, I believe 13 of 65 voters ranked MU top 25. They were the following:

Adam Grosbard Orange County Register MU 23

Ben Steele Milwaukee Journal Sentinel 24

Bob Holt Arkansas Democrat Gazette 24

Chris Murray Nevada Sports Net 23

Christina Chambers WBRC Birmingam 25

Jon Rothstein CBS Sports 25

Kevin McNamara Providence Journal 24

Lauren Brownlow WRAL Durham NC 24

Lauren Kirschman News Tribune Seattle 23

Rick Bozich WORBY TV Louisville 23

Seth Davis CBS SI 22

Sheldon Mickles Baton Rouge Advocate LA 25

Steve Hewitt Boston Herald 22

If MU wins Sunday, it would be interesting to see who does not have MU ranked next week. Just keep winning.

Does the Badger's mouthpiece, Potrykus have a vote??   8-)

Does anyone need to lose in front of us for us to be ranked if we win sunday? Or do we just jump right in

5 of the teams ranked 16-25 (bottom 10) would have already lost since the last poll. There could very well be more losses this weekend. Win in I feel confident we'd be in, but we are 0-3 in "win to be ranked" games this season.

Jeff Goodman has Marquette back in his top 25, at 25. He previously had MU ranked a while back a few weeks ago and MU immediately lost and he has been hesitant since.

A win Sunday and many would have MU comfortably in top 25.

MU82

If we take care of business on National Marquette Day we will be ranked. Period.

Follow that up with nice wins at Nova and vs Creighton and we will move into the top 15, and deservedly so.

Beat Nova on Wednesday and in the top 20 the following week.

Don't care.  Come out with the same mentality against Nova on Wednesday and I'm good with anywhere from ranked first to not receiving a single vote.

MU82

Is it possible we leapfrog Butler? They are 3-5 the last 4 weeks, with losses to DePaul, Providence at home, and now this 100-point loss to us. They did beat Nova in a close one at home, as did we. They beat us in OT at their place; we beat them by 100 at ours. Will be interesting to see how the two teams are regarded.

Arizona drops out, opening a spot for Texas Tech, which won in ShakaLand. (Shaka is still screwing us.) LSU, Illinois, Butler and/or Creighton would have to fall pretty far for us to move in.

My gut says first in Others Receiving Votes, but we could creep in based on this win and solid momentum. I hope so. Always better to be ranked than not ranked IMHO.

now this 100-point loss to us ... we beat them by 100 at ours.

Love the 100-point win reference, it did seem like it. And the net ratings give credit for win margin up to 10 points, so we get the same max credit whether it is 76-57 or 100-0.

Kenpom moved us from 31 to 22, and net already had us at 24 and Butler at 10 so even with us being at home we should move up a few there.

Hopefully voters look at those two and see us 22 and perhaps 20, and actually nudge us up a few. The key to top 25 is that everyone watches the espn highlights of the top 25.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I was hoping we could leapfrog #25 Houston but they beat Wichita State by 33 which combined with a win earlier this week I think keeps them ahead of us. We will pass Arizona for sure and I think we get ahead of #18 LSU who had a two loss week including a brutal loss to Vander "26 conference game losing streak" bilt. Maybe we can leapfrog #19 Butler simply because we were so dominate head to head but I think their win against Nova maybe keeps them above us for now.

I say 24 or 25
