I would expect around 17, as BE hasn't pulled any respect yet this year.  That said, the good press this week may have delivered a little attention to our Warriors and the rest of the league.  Some of the pollsters are already ranking us higher than we've come to expect, so up around 15 could happen with all the losses in the top 25.

Nobody is knocking MU because of a "lack of respect for the BE." Gonzaga is ranked in the top 5. Is the Mountain West being viewed as a top conference in the country? Buffalo is ranked in the top 20. Is the MAC bumping them up in voters' eyes? Houston was ranked in the top 20. I don't think anyone is calling the AAC better than the BE even in the BE's "down year."

We haven't done anything to show we're a top 10 team. If we get ranked 16 and really should be 14 does that mean we're disrespected? Not really, it more likely means the difference between 14 and 16 is an opinion and very minimal. Heck we're ranked top 20 in the country and KenPom has us in the 30s. I don't know why people think we aren't getting respect.

MU could have been just as easily 1-3 instead of 3-1 so if you want to improve your rank I would say beat some teams convincingly, they will have a chance this week.

DarkWarrior

Our NET Rating is now 20 and out RPI is 23 and out Ken pom is 34. The differing criteria and weighting for each respective model causes the significant divergence in ratings. Voters may look at these but rarely vote relying on the models. The NCAA relies on the NET System now. I still believe MU will be 15 or 16.

I'm thinking it will be 16, passing Iowa State, Ohio State, Mississippi State, Houston, and Buffalo. NC State, North Carolina, Auburn, and Florida State all lost but I don't think they get punished enough for us to move up.

Agreed with all but Buffalo. We will be 17. Buffalo will be 14-15 with UNC/NCST or both in between. Damn the state of North Carolina

+1.

Thus far I think we've shown that we're right about where we should be in the rankings.

If we run off our next four (@gtown, Prov, DePaul, @X), then we likely will and should be a fringe top 10 team going into the game at Butler.  But until that happens, I think the 16-20 range is about right for us.

DeCock At 14 (25 last week).

I think we are going to make a nice jump this week and end up at 15-16.

Wow ... this Raleigh columnist who is all ACC all the time moves us up 11 spots? You very well might be right, mubb.

Bozich has us at 23. Still has Miss St ranked ahead of us and Nova at 18

I used to use a site called RPI forecast but since the NCAA is using different metrics it doesn't look like the RPI site updates anymore. Does anyone know of a live net ranking site where is shows the probability of each win/loss.?

Also publicity.  It's honestly amazing how much voters seem to be influenced by publicity.  I'm not convinced MU would be receiving as much love if they'd beat Creighton by five in an uneventful game.  But, when you're the lead on SportsCenter and the No. 1 play of the day, people take notice.

RPI Forecast and its brethren existed because the RPI formula was in the public domain.

With the NET, I suspect it's going to be rather difficult to find someone who can replicate an unknown algorithm whose formula
has (probably) already changed a couple times since the season tipped off.

True. The reality is there are some good basketball minds among the voters, but a lot of ... uhhh ... journalists.

17 for Couch and Murray.

Both have the Badgers in their top 25 still--murray moving them from NR to 23--which is a bold move given they lost at home this week.

Couch had us at 17 last week and Murry had us at 25.

Just don't understand how people can keep us the same after 2 wins when basically every other team 12-25 had a loss

I'm just trying to figure out how a team who loses at home to Purdue can go from nr to 23.

I'm not agreeing with them, but I think some voters could choose to minimize a win where a team trails for the entire game and then wins only because of a fluke mistake by the other team.
