Let's revisit this when they actually play somebody good...

They do have 2 top 50 KenPom road wins (Purdue and Washington), which is exactly 2 more than us.  Their only loss was a road loss by 1 to KenPom #61 Penn State.

Sure they haven't played any ranked teams, but they also haven't gotten blown out on the road twice by fringe top 25 squads.

Badgers looked god awful vs minny. Right after losing to WKU and we beat them. Not much justification at this point.

Yeah they got the game close, but really never had a chance with how horrendous everyone but Happ played(and with his 1/8  free throw shooting).

I mean we looked god awful against St Johns and didn't manage to get the score close. They also beat a team on the road by more than we beat a team at home in the same week. I think you can argue how much he dropped each of us but if I was a voter I would have dropped us more spots than Bucky.

This. It definitely feels like road wins are one of the biggest things voters are looking at. Would also help our NET a lot to get a few under our belt. I feel like once the team gets one out of the way, it'll be like the Louisville game for the team's road confidence.

I think they are getting a lot of credit for being NC State's only loss and their 20 point dismantling of Oklahoma. Two teams that I am still not convinced are as good as their records would suggest.

At this point, if we were to win both games, we would likely move up to either 18 or 19 (not sure that NC State will be punished that much for losing to UNC).

Looking at the teams in front of us, we could rise as high as #10 IMHO....but that would require Kentucky/Houston/Ohio State/NC State/Nevada to all lose 1 game and Florida State/Auburn/Virginia Tech to lose two games. Highly unlikely that happens. More likely we end up in the 15-17 range.

All that being said, odds currently say we will go 1-1 this week. Should probably win the games before worrying about how much we can move up.

Could be a pretty significant mix-up in the bottom half of the rankings pending the results this week.  IF MU has a 2-0 week, they could climb back to 15-17 range pending other results.  All team teams between us and #12 UNC have a pretty good shot of losing at least 1 game this week, besides perhaps Kentucky and Buffalo (who we obviously already beat).

We are nowhere near "under the radar" any more. Heck, there have been a dozen national articles/TV segments about Markus alone.

I think the publicity we got after Wednesday's game could be worth an extra spot or two in the polls.  Basically everyone 10-20 lost this week, so there is a LOT of room to move up.  I'm going with #12.

I will say 15. This is a really weird week. We definitely jump past Houston, Miss St, Ohio St and Iowa State. Leapfrog Buffalo as part of it.

It is going to be interesting to see how voters treat NC and NC State.
