Looks like this 6-10 kid, Kevin Noreen, decommitted from BC and held a workout today, according to ESPN.  ESPN has MU at the top of his list.  Could this be Buzz's guy?

Augie,  they're comparing him to Coble and Shurna. I'm sold.

Kevin Noreen:
6'10-needs to add bulk but hes not terribly skinny.
I believe he is the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota, averaged 28 ppg as a sophomore, 38 ppg and almost 20 rebs as a senior.  Mr Basketball and MN state title in smallest division senior year.
4.0 GPA, plus a 36 on the ACT-thats a perfect score, incredibly rare.
Was a Boston College recruit, but decommitted after the coach was fired.
Rated just outside the top 100 recruits by Scouts and ESPN.  MU is his top listed school on ESPN, will visit this weekend (as will Gorgui Dieng)
I heard from a source that he might not be ready to be a huge contributor as a freshman, but should develop into a very nice player in time, and compared him to Jon Leuer.

Against the smallest schools and towns in the state tourney....played against and beat some bigger schools in the regular season.

Was just released from his LOI at BC....they are losing virtually all their recruits and the new coach has forced out a few others including a kid who played PG and left prep school early to enroll in January. New coach said he (PG) wasn't good enough for the ACC......

ACC? For now anyways....  Weird time for recruiting. "How would you like to play in the ACC as a freshman? Then, maybe the BE, SEC or B10 the rest of your years? There's also the possibility of staying in the ACC..."

he sounds great!  What a team we'd be with a Shurna or Koble!  (Novak redux).

"He's got a lot of game and he's probably the hardest-working player that I've ever coached in 30 years. He's just a dream because he's got a high basketball IQ," said John Sherman, Minnesota Transitions Basketball Coach.

Rivals has him listed as a Small Forward. Is that the case? I mean he is 6-10, I'd hope he has some moves down low. Maybe a project, but with that kind of intelligence, he could definitely develop and learn quickly.

So he gets compared to Shurna, Coble and Leuer.  Always funny to me that white guys can only be compared to white guys.  Could be a good role player in a few years but he clearly needs to add some bulk.

So it seems from your words that you've seen him play quite a few times.

Could you tell us more about his game? And compare him to a non-white player?

Never heard of him. Small school talent.
 However;
He appears to be a Jim Mcilvane clone. 6'10"? Differnece would be 3 inches and he is described as a "basketball junkie"
Give him a year to develop--redshirt!
Why was he rewleased from BC?
Get the guy and work with him!

He was reluctantly released by BC after he requested a release from his LOI due to the coaching change. He really liked the previous coach (Skinner) and was not happy to see the former Cornell coach get the job as his replacement.

There's a lot written about the whole BC athletic department mess if you do a Google search.

A kid like Gordon Hayward showed this year, that if you can put the ball in the basket, you can contribute immediately despite a lack of bulk.  Scorers are valuable...very valuable...in today's college game.
