The 6 seed is a gift.   At this point, this question is like asking why you picked the ugliest Victoria's Secret model.

I honestly do not care. I'm still amazed the committee gave us a 6 seed. I seriously thought there was no way we get off the 7-10 line.

ErickJD08

I like the match up.  This team had to win the tourney to get in.  I am happy

Agreed Tower. We got the toughest 11 because we were arguably the worst 6. Other than the miserable Domers. But that's just because I despise them.

HylianHero

I don't know about that. I wouldn't want to play San Diego State right now. They're hot. They just won the MWC tournament (The MWC is WAY better than the Pac-10 this year). I would much rather have Washington than SDSU. Not sure about Minnesota. If we got today's Minnesota, sure we would probably win, but the other games of the Big Televen tournament, I'm not so sure. Old Dominion is the easiest choice, much rather have them. This is either the 2nd or 3rd best 6-11 matchup for us.

GregClausenForever

I'm sorry, but Wash is a mediocre team.  They're best wins were over Cal x 2 and over Texas A&M at home.  They had no other wins that would make you raise your eyebrows.  They're very beatable.

NersEllenson

Stop whining...look at it this way..we got the easiest 3 seed to play if we take are of business:  New Mexico...Baylor is very, very legit..and the others are Pitt and Georgetown...

It only took 44:09 to hear some b!tching about the seed we got.

DCWarriors04

At first thought I wasn't happy with the draw, but actually I think it's a favorable one. Washington isn't a team that scares me all that much and if we get past Washington, we could knock off New Mexico.

Add me to the list of people not understanding how someone could be complaining.

avid1010

Washington - New Mexico - West Virginia to get to the Elite 8....how can you complain with that????  Do the math on where they had MU ranked to be a 6 seed...pretty impressive.

The Duke thing makes me sick.  I bet West Virginia would love to switch places with Villanova.

Well .. Had we gotten a 7, are there some 10s we'd rather play?

10s: GTech, Florida, SMC, Mizz

UW fan right here. Not trying to sound biased but UW is a very athletic team, when I say VERY I meant that. You guys can knock the Pac-10 all you want but UW and Cal are not bad teams. I've seen Marquette play this season and I am very optimistic UW can win this game.

Good.  The teams that have been giving us the most trouble this year are the slow-it-down unathletic teams.  Your analysis excites me.

cheebs09

I would not want anything to do with GT as a 10 with their two big guys and Shumpert is a big PG. We wouldn't play Mizzou because of last year I'm guessing. The other 2 I'm not as familiar with so I don't know. They had to win a Pac 10 Tournament in order to get in, otherwise the Pac 10 could be 1 bid. We were going to have a tough game no matter what. I don't know much about UW either, but I know they try to push it, so hopefully we can slow it down, play solid defense and hit some shots and move on.

Have to be satisfied with the seed and opponent.  It will be a tough game.  Need to bring our A game.  Keep focused!

Even though they are my other fav team, we could have got a good draw with the gophers

Digger just picked Washington over Marquette. Can never trust anyone from Notre Dame can you?

muguru

FYI, MU was 23rd on the "S" curve. Notre Dame was 22. Washington was #42 on the "S" curve.

I mean, it's getting old.  I'm so sick of hearing of Digger knock the Warriors.

HornDawg1957

Greetings from another U-Dub fan.

Washington wants to run up and down the court for 40 minutes. If you can avoid turnovers (especially your guards) and you go deep in the shot clock on your possessions, and you force us to play a halfcourt game on offense, you've got a great chance to win.

If the game is played too slow for the Huskies' taste, we sometimes go to a press in hopes of creating some turnovers for easy baskets or at least get the tempo of the game up.

We've got two very good scorers in Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas, great defenders in Venoy Overton and Justin Holliday, and we've got 10 guys who average more than 10 minutes a game. If we get the pace going the way we want, we try to wear the other team out with our depth. Our center, Matthew Bryan-Amaning, has been coming on late in the season with much better production than we were getting from the center spot earlier in the year.

I agree that we don't have a lot of top-50 wins (3-2 against the top 50), but, then again, we didn't have much of an opportunity. We usually don't schedule a lot of good out-of-conference teams, relying on the Pac-10 schedule to beef up the resume. That didn't happen this year because the conference was historically bad. Washington stumbled badly early in the conference season, but they played well the second half of the year. I think the jury's still out on us, so I guess we'll find out more on Thursday.

Anyway, I look forward to learning more about Marquette now that I know we'll be playing you. I know that with the competition you see in the Big East, you're not going to back down from anyone. I just hope to see a good game that's decided by the players and not by officiating that favors one team or the other.
