I was 17 when I started at MU.  Turned 18 on 10/29 my freshmen year.

I was 17 when I started at MU also.  Turned 18 on 11/21 my freshmen year.

ZFB was 20 when he started, but he had to re-take fourth grade and spent a year after HS in a psych ward.

I thought everyone held their summer birthday kids back a year nowadays.  Especially boys.  You had to be one of the youngest freshman guys at Marquette.
Every single parent of boys under 12 i know has read Outliers.  I think Gladwell gets a kickback from the private schools for the extra year of tuition that book generates.

The parents that kill me are the ones that hold their kid back primarily because he will be bigger than the other kids in his grade, and therefore (in theory), more competitive in sports.
Have some patience, FFS.

Got you beat.  When I started school, the cutoff date in Connecticut was March 1.  I didn't turn 18 until January of my freshman year.  My roommate didn't turn 18 until February.  Back then, the drinking age was 18, and it was a pain in the neck for him getting into bars that first semester (maybe got in 50% of the time).  Fortunately, I looked a lot older and don't recall ever getting carded, although I still look older and that is no longer a good thing.

Warrior - I was young for my class (turned 18 in late September of my freshman year) though not nearly as young as you. The kicker was that Milwaukee's drinking age was 21 when I was an MU student (1966-70) which meant I wasn't "legal" until almost a month into my senior year. Of course that never stopped any of us...

I think you are wrong about Wisconsin's drinking age. I believe it was 18 until the early '80s. One of the great things back in the day was that the drinking age in Illinois was 21, so all the 18-20 year old girls came to the Kenosha bars.

After my high school graduation, all my friends went to party at the bars. I went home cuz I was still 17.

GGGG

I believe that up until 1972, the counties had the authority to set their own drinking age.  From about 1972 - 1984, it was 18.  1984 to 1986 it was 19.

Drinking age changed to 18, when I was in college. Part of the Vietnam war argument. Old enough to die for the country, but not old enough to drink. When I started college you became an adult at age 21, but that was changed to age 18 along with the right to vote.

This is correct. Milwaukee county was 21 until 1972. I was there from 66-70, drinking age was 21 the entire time. Madison, Kenosha, Manitowoc and most others were 18 - not Milwaukee.

wiscwarrior

Other counties were 18 for beer only. Had to be 21 for hard liquor.

Howard just had a hell of a set. 2 free throws. hustle play to cause a turnover. 3 pointer on the inbound. Kid is a GAMER.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Man... I sure hope MH is chatting up Marquette to his teammates. Kevin Knox and Jordan Brown look REALLLLL good.

Knox is unbelievable. He's also a top 10 recruit and has a offer from just about everyone.

This is true. Been fun watching this game. MH has been doing some nice work at the point in the second half. He's shown the 3 is lethal so they come in on him and when they do, he uses a nice first step to blow by them. Made a few nice cuts to the hoop.

If by 17 you mean 16.

0 assists, 3 turnovers... the turnover rate is up too high, but man his shooting has been ridiculous.

...heading into the finals:
Markus - ORtg 134.6, 2nd on team (Carte'Are Gordon w/136.8 and a 24.9% usage... arguable the top performer statistically.. 2018 F/C)... 63.9% eFG% w/52.2% 2FG & 48.4% 3FG... assist rate down to 18%.. turnovers up to 23%.
