Gard is a regular at the VFW in Viroqua. Sloshes down a couple of old fashioneds and orders perch or bluegills for his fish fry...all while sharing a few war stories about his days at Platteville.

Gard has his own place near Eagle River, too.  He's killing it in Oneida and Vilas Counties.  He did get a fine from the DNR for his landscaping into the lake but still.
