Must be some heads exploding in Badgerland Fandom today. Do they root for Tom Izzo and the Hausers, all of whom they hate,  or do they root for Marrquette, whom they probably hate more.

What a dilema.

But first, they have their 11:00 AM tip-off v. Liberty to worry about.
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

I want to beat MSU because that is a name the casual basketball fans know well.  There are friends of mine who only really pay attention to CBB during the tournament and not as much during the year.  They follow their own teams very casually. Their interest will perk up if MU beats some of these name brands. They don't care that the name brands aren't having good years.  This is an opportunity today and the following rounds to cement our good year in the minds of the general public.  If we want to puff our chests out, these are the games we need to win.  Vermont was nice but basketball fans barely blinked an eye.

Go MU!!! Beat The crap out of Sparty!

I agree. Beating big name schools on national TV will build the brand further and help a great deal in recruiting. My optimism is based off of MSU is not the same level of team as years past, but still a big name program. It is time to continue to move the program to another level. Today will be a nice start.

Agreed Goose.

Win the title and everything takes care of itself.  Agreed on this as well.

I agree with this analysis.

Succinct.

Looks like 60% of the bets are on Marquette to cover the -3, but 63% of the money is on Michigan State to cover the +3.

50 minutes til tip!!!

I think Walker is the key guy to erase.  I thought Mich St. played really well yesterday but Enfield did nothing to change his defensive schemes.  I expect a level of intensity and physicality from MU that will surpass our performance vs UCONN.  Our guys will be ready.  :)

Occasionally I spot the right player to focus on.  Lost in much of the discussion over the past 15 hours is that their PG was the best player on the floor and made all their key plays.  He also had zero turnovers. That doesn't change our stretch of ineptitude but when I ask for someone to be erased in the future I expect to be taken seriously.  :)

He hit two really difficult drives, and at least two longer twos on tough stop and pops. Props to him.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

By far the best player on the floor yesterday.  I'll give him props but no one else.  :)

I thought MSU hit a lot of tough shots at the rim and we didn't. Some of Kam's layups rolled off the rim and others had shots that had no chance at going in or even hitting the rim.

Being-10 at the FT line didn't help either.
